Re: Teacher to student: can't write about Jesus

Those two things do not relate at all.  - A little girl at a public school that was denied to be able to write a "favorite hero" assignment about Jesus is the same as a legislature commending a private school? Plus, 911 was 12 years ago. Who is still at that school who was even around 12 years ago? Maybe they deserve a commendation for cleaning up their act (you never mentioned why they got a commendation or how the school was tied to 911). This whole issue is really yanking at your emotions I see.

Why don't you ignorant jerks find something else to complain about--guns, gays, God, taxes, abortion, liberals, weather, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc!!!!!!!!! Do you ever have a good day? People all over the world starve to death every second! Thousands in America die each day because of no insurance. Christianity is NOT UNDER ATTACK!!! GET OVER IT!!

If there were more Chirstians Like Knapper, the world would be a better place.

My question is : Why do we only hear of the wrong, righteous and rabid form of christianity ?

Re: Teacher to student: can't write about Jesus

NewAg - It is because many (mostly protestants) are misguided. They want everyone to be absolutely certain they are a Christian and they also want to make sure people know they are righteous. When that happens and their beliefs are on display rather than held as a deep conviction, the ugly part of Christianity appears plainly and openly.

I'm not a bible quoter generally, but I like what Matthew said, "Beware of practicing your righteousness before other people in order to be seen by them, for then you will have no reward from your Father who is in heaven."  - (I had to look it up)

The two do relate. On one hand you have the government telling a little girl she can't write about her hero, Jesus, because of the seperation of church and state. On the other hand you have the government writing [by written resolution] singing the praises of a muslim mosque and the seperation of church and state is not even questioned.

Re: Teacher to student: can't write about Jesus

Well, I have found a copy of the resolution for you if you care to see. I also found many other resolutions where Christian churches were commended - as a matter of fact, so many that I quit looking and only posted the first few I ran accross. So, apparently there is no separation of church and state or commending a religious organization does not constitute a state sponsored religion. Either way, your connection between the paper and the commendation(s) is very tenuous at best.

Re: Teacher to student: can't write about Jesus

He wont care about any of that, he is obsessed about  some poor little girl who should be able to solve Math Problems by writing in JESUS as the answer to every question on the test.
