I don't think #2 is a redeeming quality myself.  Never backing down is just a streak of stubborness.  It doesn't lower your image to back down or compromise sometimes.  You have to ask yourself, just "how much can I give and still be ok".  People who can't or won't compromise are jerks.It is OK to stand up for your principles buteven there you have to ask yourself the question.

I think it would be good in a moderator, in that he will keep asking the question, and won't be intimidated by the presence of influential people.

 

Then again, I also think the main reason he's doing this is for the publicity, which isn't exactly the most noble reason to do something.
