One of the last works of the late, great David Halberstam was the essay "The History Boys" published in Vanity Fair. It was a piecing critique of the continuous propaganda effort to paint GWB as a brave, Churchillian figure who history would ultimately grant favor to.
And no it hasn't.
Apparently the Trump Administration has found the Andrew Jackson Administration* as its historical muse. Leaving aside the troubling atrocities associated with it, like the GWB admin there's absolutely no reason to believe that they'll be successful at anything.
*AJ's personal vendetta with the Bank of the US left the country in a fairly consistently economically depressed until the post-Civil War boom.
