Re: The Iron Law of Valuation

"birtherism" = Russia Russia Russia.   It didn`t work for us and won`t work for you either....there is that "42.1%" or whatever that would`ve changed the Constitution or burned the cities had it been proven without doubt that the first "historic president" was really a foreign exchange student that made good through affirmative action.    Likewise I suppose "42.1% of us see the country so far gone that a little detail like "Russia" wouldn`t sway us either.

the mancrush thing

was fully in evidence here back when Manafort's PR firm released the pics of Vlad astride a steed,  his heaving pale bosum with gun across it.

Sort of like the cover of a romance novel for Libertarians.

the manipulations

are subliminal, deeply emotional to the verge of hysteria.

Skin color, gunz, masculinity.

It may well work

and when sanctions against Russia make it look like Weimar Germany with similar results and these nuts get their war with Russia they may step back for a moment and say "hang on, this is because I hated Trump, my grandkids will die because I hated Trump enough to buy into this ridiculousness".

you're like a caricature

like Archie Bunker but of a different type.  Like one of those people that make you role eyes, because they complain most about in others what they have most in themselves.

It's highly entertaining, in an internet spectacle kind of world.

an interesting question

that sort of circles back to the topic of this thread.

Russia isn't really a country- it is just a domicile for a mafia group that controls the world's most powerful concentration of looted assets.

It is sort of like where the money men who run US politics would like to be as their ultimate goal.

Like in Russia, they'll gladly use ethno-nationalism as a means to controlling the populace and consolidation of control.

They've also invested very large sums in the effort to delegitmize the public's view of governance.

Those people are actually deemed legitimate, in fact admirable, in our society. I suppose the same was true of Russia where they can't imagine a different route to wealth and power.

Re: you're like a caricature

Sure, it is altogether impossible to imagine that manly patras familia are in fact the slaves of manipulated emotions.

Re: It may well work

You could put Nox and Mueller on a rack, shoot `em full of sodium pentothal and I would really be shocked if they believed "Russia", if you broke out the "tools" they would admit that they consider themselves "patriots" for the scheme to get rid of a president that they disagree with.   Ends justify the means.

Of course this may be amended after the outcome of the midterms   🙂

Re: an interesting question

So on the one hand Russia wanted Trump to win, on the other hand Russia gave dirt and pee tapes to the Democrats in order to destroy the Trump candidacy and presidency.....give me a one armed Liberal!

Re: an interesting question

They are legitimate.  As much as the Saudi Monarchs, the Mullahs of Iran, the Chinese communist party, various despots around the globe.   All of which work to their own benefit against the interest of the USA.

I'm not sure whose governance you think they've spent vast sums to delegitimize, if its the US' they didn't need to the US government and political system has that covered.
