A generation of  selfish wussies whining and wailing.  The greatest generation must be smirking and rolling their eyes as they roll in their graves

This is what you get when you have an entire segment of the population that purchased its "rugged individualism" at Cabela's.

Re: The Moloch guy

Becoming more and more evident that this is a rather simply delineated Xer “left behind” landscape.

Boomers worked.  And a hungry system of rampant soulless financialization left no choice but for them to be rewarded with some of the residual.

Gens after Xers ihave shown an extreme willingness to work and do it for pennies if it showed some prospect for a future.

Xers (obviously over represented here by tracking statements of experiences and sources of complaints) see what looks to them like fat on one end and missed opportunities on the other and can only see it as being that somebody left them out of the party. Yet, they have been the tipping demo in voting in corporatists and neoliberals into DC and Statehouses thinking that the winners will shower them with access and priviledge for their compliance and mere existence.

No surprise that all of those old folks elected all of those “surrogate Grandsughters” to the US House in ‘18.

Re: The Moloch guy

Bootstraps.  Making it on their own, clearing stumps...just like the way some obscure distant ancestor  (or legendary family acquaintance) did.

The gang that wouldn’t have taken those wage and union busted jobs that were the natural result of globalization, corporatize Timon, deregulation of finance. The spawn of Reaganomics, and it’s ***** offspring neoliberalism.

Wish I’d had 5 bucks for  every time in the 80’s, as our County’s 4 food plants were being increasingly staffed by brown and yellow people some good townie who had never worked a second on a line in their life said “Look “They” are taking all of “our” jobs”. And of course, renting and buying all of the little old houses in the towns and making them habitable. Renting farmsteads that all the decent folks had long abandoned.

Now,” those people” run a good share of what’s left of Main Street in the towns. Ironically, many of them businesses that have been deemed essential in State CV guidelines. Much to the chagrin of the winger boutique, non-essential qset, no less.
