Refers to TX and MS policies as Neanderthal
“Exactly, ancient race of white people with a strong claim to indigeneity who were mistreated, run off their land and driven to extinction by newcomers from the Middle East and Africa. Neanderthals are the ur-grievance, origin story and brand seal of Trumpism all rolled into one.”
Re: The President ..goes deep into the cancel cave
There is nothing preventing anyone in Texas from double masking and remaining in their home. Abbott believes people are capable of protecting themselves with out government mandates. If you are too stupid to know the difference between a boy and a girl you might be too stupid to protect yourself
Re: It's obvious that ...
It's obvious that some people in Texas are too selfish to take the simple precautions that might avoid them being a risk to others and an unnecessary burden on the public health system.
Even if you could guarantee that those people who become seriously ill through their own negligence and selfishness don't receive any medical treatment and are no burden on society there is still the risk they pose other innocent persons, unknowingly and unavoidably exposed to them.
To say that individuals have no responsibility to protect others from the danger they invariably pose is immoral.

"U.S. Representative Henry Cuellar (D-TX) reported the apprehension of approximately 10,000 migrants in the last seven days in the Rio Grande Valley Sector. He said agents apprehended 2,500 in the past two days alone.
“We are weeks, maybe even days, away from a crisis on the southern border. Inaction is simply not an option,” Congressman Cuellar said in a written statement. “Our country is currently unprepared to handle a surge in migrants in the middle of the pandemic.”
