Re: The Senate just held a vote on detention

How can you say Obama is a victim of circumstances for his failures, deserving of props for his successes? You have to take it all or none.

Re: The Senate just held a vote on detention

Exactly. That is why the minions of Satan bury it in the bill.

Re: The Senate just held a vote on detention

Then they can bring it back without it.

That's how it's supposed to work.

But then again, to Cheney, Graham and Lieberman and the other neocon stool pigeons, it's proably the only thing they do like in it,

They'd likely have no prolem with contracting out the things you are  expressing concerns over. Only reason we didn't get a totally privatized militray at some time in the past administration is that budget transparency becomes a problem.

You can write checks to yourself and tear them up. Haliburton and Blackwater and Bechtel and such send out invoices.

You mean repubs, don't you??

Re: The Senate just held a vote on detention

He hasn't done it yet, first of all. Push comes to shove and he's a cronic caver. We'll have to see.  All bets are off on anything if Iran continues to become more  and more incendiary. If so, then the orders start coming down from on high.

I'm  no big Obama fan. Not a party line propper upper, regardless of what you may assume.. Get me a GOP candidate that's better and I'll cross over, as I have many times in over 40 years of voting. Just trying to be objective in this particular situation.

Seven days worth of food???   Heck I bet the wife and I have over 30 days worth of food counting all the fruits and veggies we can and freeze.   Not to mention my son is missing a finger plus I buy lots of nitrogen fertilizer.   I just hope they have HBO in those detention centers and I can get my Packer games.

I do think if Graham would have said that stuff to the founding fathers he would have been hung for treason. May be we haven't changed that much after all. I don't see this as ever being overturned.

Re: The Senate just held a vote on detention

On some issues the constitution is vague, but its pretty clear on the rights of the accused. It would have to be challenged for the scotus to hear it. How can it be challenged if the accused fall into a lawyerless limbo land?

Re: The Senate just held a vote on detention

Good ol' mccain pokes joke at Long Island residents and is told to stick to Arizona if he wants to mock people.  Perry doesn't know when the election is nor what the voting age is.
