Re: The Trade War

That's funny. You and the other Democratic Socialist crew think that we can tax ourselves into prosperity, all of the time. 😂

Re: The Trade War

The government can take the tariff money from Chinese steel dumping and use it to guarantee price support for farmers.

So what are you going to do with all the subsidized soys?

Dump them on the world market? which will lead to trade sanctions by others to retaliate just as they will impose trade restrictions to retaliate for the tariffs on metals.

Then of course there will be the extra cars manufactured in Mexico and other countries with cheaper steel and aluminum for export to where ever at prices less than US made cars.

I see this tree war really being a winner just like the 1930ies. Go back and study history so you know what to expect.

Re: The Trade War

We can manufacture our own pink plastic flamingoes, with the soybean surplus, if there is any.

China is letting the United States build up its military. Just like Mexico is going to pay for the Wall.

one of the funny things

was watching the press scratching their heads over what the thing that China was threatening retaliation on- sorghum- is.

Small thing but commercials could really get burned on some basis issues from some of this stuff and are probably going to be cautious on basis with it in the background.

Not a huge thing at the moment but not a positive.

Re: one of the funny things

Billionaire investor and longtime Trump buddy Carl Icahn dumped $31.3 million of Manitowoc Co. Inc. stock last week. Manitowoc  makes cranes and lifts, they use many tons of steel............. how fortuitous.

Manitowoc's stock went down near 12% since the Trump tariff talk.
