The stimulus, apparently.....

....didn't work as well as it could have 'cause it was implemented and administered so well.

Should we laugh or cry?

So we'd have been better off then if it had been run by Goldman Sachs or GMAC ?

Yeah, sure.  You've heard about the weatherization program I suppose?

The stimulus failed and is by definition waste.   Remember Barry assured us with the stimulus UE wouldn't go over 8%.

Lighten up...I wasn't pimpin' for anything, existing or proposed. The piece just hit me like a shot to that nerve they call the funny bone and was simply sharing.

Bruce, been meaning to ask you your thoughts on Tarryl Clark.  Have a chance?  My cousin used to live up in the northern half of MN and she says that the 6th district is so loaded up with rich repubs that Bachman is a shoo-in.

Do you actually ever read anything clear through?

Or were you responding to some other post?

Re: The stimulus, apparently.....

Caming in late from shelling. Saw your headline that said waste and fraud. Was too tired to read it but figured they were talking about government fraud. My apologies.

Re: The stimulus, apparently.....

There is just nothing funny going on in this country right now. The criminals have complete control and the honest among us are left dazed and confused about the moral hazards we are presented with. Have you seen the latest bit of graft enhancement the president is about to sign. Another gift from our enablers in congress. http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bill.xpd?bill=h111-3808 Given what is going on with the fraud in our mortgage industry its not hard to figure out the end run that that law is about.

Re: The stimulus, apparently.....

And note how that bill passed (3808), no record of how anyone in either house voted on it.

Re: The stimulus, apparently.....

Obama like his predecessor was elected to fix the "mess" left behind by his predecessor. He chose to stimulate the economy by the "tried and true" Democrat method of government spending. Sadly, there was no coherent, well thought out plan to do this; he simply allowed assorted Dem poobahs to send gifts to whatever constituencies they felt most appropriate. Bush likewise held constant with Republican philosophy when he chose to stimulate the economy with a hodgepodge of tax cuts designed to placate various Republican constituencies. The long term effect of Bush's policy is a forerunner to that of Obama's policy. http://www.thefiscaltimes.com/Issues/Taxes/2010/09/17/Bush-Tax-Cuts-No-Economic-Help.aspx Aunque la mona se vista de seda, mona se queda.
