Good question. .22 mag. is a nice rifle, but only reliable to about 80-100 yds. The 243, is for the fun shots out to 250 yds.

I've actually been looking for one to restore but even the really rough ones are pretty expensive and thanks to Obama's cash for clunkers (that was a real great idea) they're probably even less of them around.
