They can hear your conversations even if your phone is turned off

 http://www.nytimes.com/2012/08/23/opinion/the-national-security-agencys-domestic-spying-program.html...

One of the real issues which should be primary issue in the campaigns and debates, today, instead of dogs, birth control and who is most loyal to foreign politicians

This NYT article includes a 8 minute video interview of whistle blower Willian Binney, a 32 year veteran of the National Security.

"Two weeks later, driving past the headquarters of the N.S.A. in Maryland, outside Washington, Mr. Binney described details about Stellar Wind, the N.S.A.’s top-secret domestic spying program begun after 9/11, which was so controversial that it nearly caused top Justice Department officials to resign in protest, in 2004.

"The decision must have been made in September 2001,” Mr. Binney told me and the cinematographer Kirsten Johnson. “That’s when the equipment started coming in.” In this Op-Doc, Mr. Binney explains how the program he created for foreign intelligence gathering was turned inward on this country. He resigned over this in 2001 and began speaking out publicly in the last year. He is among a group of N.S.A. whistle-blowers, including Thomas A. Drake, who have each risked everything — their freedom, livelihoods and personal relationships — to warn Americans about the dangers of N.S.A. domestic spying."

snip-"The 2008 amendments to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, which oversees the N.S.A. activities, are up for renewal in December. Two members of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, Senators Ron Wyden of Oregon and Mark Udall of Colorado, both Democrats, are trying to revise the amendments to insure greater privacy protections. They have been warning about “secret interpretations” of laws and backdoor “loopholes” that allow the government to collect our private communications. Thirteen senators have signed a letter expressing concern about a “loophole” in the law that permits the collection of United States data. The A.C.L.U. and other groups have also challenged the constitutionality of the law, and the Supreme Court will hear arguments in that case on Oct. 29."

Ron Wyden is a busy man.  He's the one that co-sponsered the Ryan medicare plan.

I'm not really up on what Mark Udal has been doing lately, however I sure would not trust him, he's an statest and part of the Empire.

I don't know that much about Wyden other than the wiki entry I just read.  He voted against the renewal of the Patriot Act, however it seems he a bill pending which allows information gathering.

Remember the McCain Feingold act was supposed to keep big money out of campaigns and resulted in giving the R&D's Nation Committees control legalized bribery slush funds

snip-In June 2011, Wyden announced his "Geolocation Privacy and Surveillance Act" in partnership with Representative Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah). The bill, which is still under House consideration, would establish a legal frame-work for the sharing and access of private tracking data by corporations, individuals, and federal agencies.[55]

Anybody seen anything of Sammy?

Just saw a Tampa police official say that their biggest concern heading into next week  is individual, lone wolf, unafilliated anarchists.

I always read the fixes on the app updates for my phone. And I never let it automatic update. The last You Tube update said this under hardware.

Allows application to take pictures and videos with the camera. This allows the application at any time to collect the pictures the camera is seeing.

Needless to say I didnt update.

Re: They can hear your conversations even if your phone is turned off

You can tell when they are tapping into your phone when your phone starts to heat up for no reason.  They can't hide the natural warming up your phone does when it is transmitting on its own.  Also, if your battery starts to run down for no reason, it is because it is being used to transmit information autonomously.

I know several people that has had their phone do that.  All you have to do is take out the battery every time you need to have a private conversation.

You can also do what's called "rooting" your phone. It basically removes their ROMS and then you can put in new software. Then you can remove all those stupid apps you don't want on there and just put the ones on there you want. But don't ask your phone company about it they don't like it.

What kind of conversations are you having that you have to be worried about someone listening in? Unless you have alot of neighbors that are just that snoopy.

I do a lot of opposition research on the internet on political candidates of the Left.  I also buy up useful internet domain names that I use for Truth Sites.  I am sure that there are more than a few folks whom would like to know what I am "up to".  It will only get worse when the Central Government becomes an all controlling dictatorship with the collapse of society and the ending of our liberties and rights.
