They know a bone when they see one.

They're saying at least leave a lttle meat on it.

snip-

The Congressional Black Caucus has decided to withhold its approval for the House Democratic leadership team, denying Speaker Nancy Pelosi full support of the 42-member organization as she campaigns to remain leader.

After a nearly two hour long meeting on Monday night, chairwoman Barbara Lee of California said the group only will endorse caucus member James Clyburn of South Carolina for a leadership position. The causus first wants to know what his role will be in the Democratic leadership before backing the full slate.

"We fully support our current Whip, Mr. Clyburn, for the number three position and we are currently reserving judgment on the entire package until we see what the actual portfolio entails, in terms of responsibilities," Lee said.

With Democrats losing their majority status in the upcoming House session, they will also lose one leadership position.

Clyburn had decided to run against Rep. Steny Hoyer for the position of minority whip in the upcoming Congress, but was offered the role of assistant leader as it became clear he would not prevail in his campaign. Pelosi created the post in the House leadership team especially for Clyburn, to acknowledge the important role African-Americans play in the party.

Neither Clyburn nor Lee explained what roles and responsibilities they wanted the job of assistant leader to entail.

"We want to make sure that there is a substantive weight given to that position," Rep. Yvette Clarke of New York said, stressing she did not want it to be a "marginal" or "ceremonial" type of position.

"Right now it is just the beginning of the discussion," she added.

What are you repubs going to do with Michael Steele. Here is a gentleman that has led the republican national committee to historical gains in the mid term election. Astounding by anyone's measure.

Are you going to vote for his reappointment to that position or are you going to ****can him to satisfy the tea party? The folks that obviously cannot recognize when someone has actually done a good job.

Had it not been for the Citizen's United ruling by the Supeream Court, Micheal Steele was failing miserably in the campaign fund donations. The Supeream Court save the TeaGOPhers bacon.

I always know that my instincts are right about getting rid of someone when the "other" side wants us to keep him. The "tea" party is the party. Call them what you will, but I've seen your kind demonstrating and I'll take my "crazies" as you would call them over yours any day. You Dems are now led by true Nut jobs. I just want your message to get out even more. Please keep it up.

You are dreaming. Keep making up what ifs if it helps ya cope with reality. This melt down is fun to watch.

You can see when the Leftists are going through a melt down.... their spelling takes on a life of its own, and the ad hominem attacks are the order of the day.

Re: Leftist / Socialist / Liberal / Progressive Meltdown

Stay awake, boys, your in for a rough ride of your own. The Teagohers think they have a mandate, all their going to get is an education on what it means to be in Washington. The diffence between Teagohers and Democrats is the Democrats are living in the 21st century, the Teagohers are still in the 19th.

Until the Chamber of Commerce stepped in the Teagohers were broke! They would have been blown completely out had it not been for the foreign money of the CofC.

Thanks for the re-right, Craig, but you and I know I had it right the first time!!

This is what I'm talking about, Craig! Read it and weep!

Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee

“The DSCC raised a stunning $17.4 million in October while the National Republican Senatorial Committee raised $14.2 million.” –Hotline 11/16/10
Dale,

That $17.4 million is more than just a line on a spreadsheet. That number is the difference between victory and defeat. As Hotline said: “In particular, the DSCC fundraising allowed it to spend millions in Nevada, Colorado and Washington defending Sens. Harry Reid (D), Michael Bennet (D) and Patty Murray (D) -- three incumbents that ultimately became their firewall.”

Your generosity is what kept Democrats in power. And that’s going to make a huge difference in moving the nation forward in the next two years.

Once again, thanks for your hard work and dedication. We couldn’t do it without you.

Sincerely,

J.B. Poersch
