Re: You get a +A for spin, Bruce.
It`s one thing to push through a bridge to Timbucktu with some Lame Ducks in the 11th hour, and quite another to turn +230 yrs of Military history on it`s ear. You Democrats lament on how Republicans won`t work together, won`t compromise...well is it any wonder?? This crookedness is no way to run a railroad, you guys act like "get the money out of politics" is the answer, well that ain`t the half of it. If the party in power pushes so much dirt through that they lose at the ballot box, then use the last month of their miserable term to push the Holy Grail of dirt through in order to pay off campaign "donations", let`s be honest here, that is why congress has a 9% approval rating.

90% aren't civily engaged or informed enough to even know what lame duck passage (perfectly leagal) is. Or recess appointments (also legal and of which your silence indicates that you have no problem with).
Are you saying that DADT was repealled to pay off campaign donations? From whom?
The DoD and military leadership didn't oppose repeal. It was religious and cultural connservatives, an ever shriking, albeit noisier minority that did.
Have you seen the numbers on approval and blame for gridlock as they aply to the two respective Congressional delegations?
Here's an idea for ya'. Work like Craig is to replace some of those old fuddy duddy old notions Republicans in the House with some more of the sort that you did last time. Make the picture clearer for the confused public.

Re: Thinking about '12 election
And was that caused by Obama or the economy in a nose dive? I just want an idea whether you are capable of any honesty.

And therefore we shouldn't try anyone in our courts because the cases might be thrown out if there is no compelling evidence.
What do you want to do convict them without a pesky trial?

Yes, the recession that Obama inherited was helped along by his policies. Now, will you be honest and admit it? I doubt you can.

Re: You get a +A for spin, Bruce.
Just a simple fact of life. The president and the congress people are elected for specific terms. $ years for the president. 6 years for the senate and 2 years for the congressmen.
They are elected for specific terms starting from a specific date and serving to a specific date. None of them lose power until they reach that specific date. Therefore they have the power to decide on legislation until they reach that date when their terms exp[ire.,
I don't remember Bush two giving up power before OBamas inaugeration day. Congressmen and senators do not lose power on election day. and if you lost to a democrat you would still try to throw legislation your way and don't try to make us beleive any different.

Re: Thinking about '12 election
i THINK THE RECESSION WOULD HAVE RUN ITS COURSE REGARDLESS OF WHO WAS PRESIDENT. aND IT WASN'T HELPED BY A OPPOSITION THAT RESISTED ANY ACTION HE PROPOSED.

Re: Thinking about '12 election
As I said, everything is worse, debt, gas prices, unemployment, everything that can be measured is worse. 0bama had a Dem House and Senate for 2 whole years, they got 0bamacare through so don`t give me that crap about "Republican obstructionism". I can not tell you if things would have been even worse under McCain, but you can surely see things ARE WORSE UNDER 0BAMA. How`s that for honesty?

Re: You get a +A for spin, Bruce.
Use deductive reasoning Bruce, repealling DADT is toxic, those who did it aren`t bragging about it. Those running FOR office BRAG about being AGAINST it. There are not alot of gays in the military to begin with. The averge interior decorator gay dude in Peoria doesn`t give a rip about what goes on in the Army. So, why would Congresspeople "fall on the sword" for just a fraction of percentage of people? When gay outfits wanted gays in the Army for one reason.....To 1. give the finger to traditionalists. 2. The most important, to push their lifestyle into American culture ie, 2 dudes huggin` and kissin` after their ship docks...aw ain`t that sweet!! I know next to nothing about "recess appointments" but I`m sure that I`m against `em. I`ll read up on it and argue about it with you if the thread stays at the top

Because his action has proved to be wrong. I knew you could not be honest.
