Re: Trade war
Canuck, you won't win bringing logic, facts and common sense to a forum raised on midnight tweets, presidential ignorance and a total lack of knowledge.
The US educational system has been sub-par for so long that you can see the results on this forum with the American posters totally isolated from facts and logic.
If the subject was not decided in Leviticus, they are totally at a loss for understanding.
If it was decided in Leviticus, the cling to the idea that a nation of shepherds had a monopoly on truth for all time.
In any case you are debating an issue with the ignorant. You won't be able to teach them anything because truth is not a moral virtue with them.
Have a good one.

Re: Trade war
The ironic thing is you guys use as an excuse "there are differences in currency values" ...well you guys PURPOSELY manipulate your currency to run a SURPLUS against the United States, that`s the dirty trick in the whole debacle. But I`ve said a hundred times, Canada isn`t the big offender in all of this, sure you`re screwing us like the rest of the world, but there are much worse trading "partners".
The reason trade deficits "increased" as of late, the rest of the world is taking President Trump seriously and companies are jockeying for a favorable position before tariffs take effect. Kinda like you hear "tomorrow the corn basis is gonna widen 50 cents" well you`d be haulin` corn like it`s goin` out of style today, right?
This from The Atlantic, 2011. You know when there was a different president in, one they knew wouldn`t to a damned thing about the trade deficit and the could be comfortable in reporting the truth.

Re: Trade war
I know sasktel but if I don't try then they remain ignorant of those facts completely since their system does not point them out to them.
Who knows maybe the odd one has enough reasoning power to at least know deep down that their dear leader has led them astray.
I see BA thinks Canada manipulates our currency. Probably one of those things they are fed to keep them following their dear leader. But of course if they checked with an economist they would know most currencies float according to the market forces.
A currency rising or 'high' is caused by trade SURPLUS while a low currency is caused by DEFICITS in trade.
I guess it makes it easier for them to stumble through life if they do not have to face facts and just continue to live in a land of make believe.
Did you hear the meeting of G7 finance ministers is now being called the G6 + 1?
