True enough
Even exceptionally well run banks don’t have near enough cash on hand to withstand an electronic bank run.
Although that is still much more likely if deposits are concentrated in large, uninsured accounts plus if they happen to be part of the same information and rumor ecosystem.

Re: A word to wise, maybe.
I confess, sometimes I get busy, and a little too complacent, even I'm guilty of having a little too much money sitting in one bank. I guess it wouldn't hurt to move some elsewhere, not that I'm worried about our local bank.

I don’t have that problem but may be looking to buy some CDs when I think the rate cycle has topped.
Although the potential for appreciation from bonds is probably more alluring.

Re: A word to wise, maybe.
Rick, if you are happy with the convenience, rates, and services of your bank it is very simple to get multiples of the insurance coverage on your money. You don't have to go to another bank. If you ever need it just ask at the bank.
