Re: Truman diary
One thing I would add is Jesus has made a way for us to gain the victory over Satan. Satan knows he has lost but he continues to try and deceive people.

It's all in the interpretation of things. The radical Muslims are "carrying out God's will" also.

Give 'em Hell Harry
Harry went to a KKK meeting in Grandview, Mo. to give them his "input". Took along his business partner Eddie Jacobson.
Harry told the klansmen assembled that they must have bought their sheets from a Jew as only a Jew would be able to get $30 for a white sheet. Eddie was sure he would be lynched.
Harry Truman was probably the last President who thought what he was doing was the best for the country. Some say Eisenhower but he threw his good friend Gen George Marshall under the bus because the Republican Party said to do it.
Harry spoke his mind and people just thought he was giving them hell.
The state of Israel carries it's policies out in a very authoritarian manner, regardless of legality or morality.

Re: Truman diary
She posted this. The guy says the same thing I said from day one, the CME needs to make their customers whole or all confidence in our financial markets will be lost. Ann was smart enough to get her customers out until some integrity is restored.
snip-
Interesting video here. This is the guy who is running the MF customer group that I linked to earlier this week. He is also the guy who criticized me for shutting down. He is very well-informed as to what is going on, but because he is in the business himself, I think he is also in a state of denial about the systemic nature of this problem and the extent to which trust in the system has been destroyed. But his command of the intricacies of this situation are good, and he is rocking the Buddy Holly/Roy Orbison look, so that's cool too. This video really gets going at the 3:30 mark:
Aside: I had a great conversation with a trader out of Hong Kong operating in Seattle earlier this week, and he confirmed that the Asian trade is now viewing the U.S. markets as POISON because of this. I told him to pack his bags and go home to Hong Kong and set up shop there, because - and brace yourselves for this - the Chinese markets and regulatory oversight bodies have more integrity than their U.S. counterparts, and there will be a flight to quality with regards to the rule of law into the Chinese financial markets.
Think long and hard about what I just said. Then feel free to go sit on the stairs and sob for as long as is needed.

"Put an underdog on top and it makes no difference whether his name is Russian, Jewish, Negro, Management, Labor, Mormon, Baptist he goes haywire. I've found very, very few who remember their past condition when prosperity comes."
One could just as easily insert Dems and Repubs in that first sentence.

Re: Truman diary
She is seeing the technicals on this correctly and has been right about them from the beginning.
The China thing is scary, but not unpredictable. They hang factory managers and supervisors over dangerous product defects. Remember the poisoned baby formula?
She obvioulsy understands it all being directly affected but like you and otehre felt compelled to take the oppotunity to an immediate shot, on a partisan political basis. Particularly trying to blame everything that was wrong or gets tilted EXCLUSIVELY on the Obama administration, when this ever and ever deregulated, unregulated and unenforced area of the financial secotr has been going in the wrong direction for a couple of decades. That was and is pure chicken #### . The administration is failing miserably in this area, but Anne opened up her brokerage in 2006 and was a steady player right along, just like everyody else.
None of the basic technical issues that she describes correctly have been what the criticism of her has been about here.

Re: Truman diary
Did she mention Obama? I didn't see it. And if she did, who is in charge? Our markets will die unless some one enforces the rule of law. She said she will not invest customers money in the market as they are currently being run.

Re: Truman diary
She said in her original letter that she was shut down until Obama had been removed from office.
And for what it is worth...and I welcome any rational denial from anyone...plese, in fact..if in Feb. of 2009 Obama would have appointed and had somehow gotten confirmed someone like Patrick Fitzgerald or Eliot Spitzer or Eric Shneiderman to the AG post. And then, had gone to Congress and asked for appropriations to expand and staff up the SEC and the Justice Department and had asked for big time money for The Treasury Department to create a special wing of the FBI, and maybe even for block grant funds to go to the state AGs.... all in an effort to investigate, round up, prosecute and punish the perpetrators of the great financial crisis that came to a head in the fall fo 2008......? What then?
ALL THINGS THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY, and probably even more that I haven't mentioned or thought of....more Judges and a sped up docket maybe?
Had he, or Senator McCain if he had won for that matter, had done even a little of that the haters and the swells would have attacked him in a manner for which there would have been no precedent. Calling him Stalin or Pol Pot would have been mild compared to what would have actually happened. He'd have been dubbed the worst sort of communist and would probably have been gone by Easter, one way or the other.
I defy anyone to take into consideration those possiblities of action that I described,,,,,,that he might have done... and project any other possible outcome.
You boys out on the tips of the wing have had or been able to make up all the fodder you need...what might you have done with that?
What would Rick Santenelli have said about it and what would have been the agenda of the Super Tea Party that would have risen up? When Jamie Dimond would have said "We are doing God's work!" (from his new cell, of course) the birthers and the baggers would have busted him out.

Re: Truman diary
Could have, should have, would have, but he didn't. The attacks would not have been any worse. What HE DID was put tax cheat Giethner, the head of the New York reserve, in charge of treasury. He put Eric Holder in as AG and told him to get guns to the mexican drug lords and sue states trying to control their ILLEGAL aliens population and to make legal gay marriages. Yet you condemn the tea party and Ann Barnhart who call for the things you wanted Obama to do to start with.
