Even if the police don't care to press charges on a clear case of aggravated assault, it can certainly proceed as a civil case.

That brings up my thing about carrying guns beyond one's own property other than when you are clearly hunting wabbits.

I think a minimum personal liability policy of $1M should be required in order to prove that you are able to indemnify victims if you screw up and harm someone beyond the very narrow scope of self defense*.

Probably not a problem for most here- I assume that most here carry at least that much and their carrier already assumes that risk by having written the policy. They would typically covre negligence and stupidity- probably everything but the clear commission of a criminal act.

*still not defined specifically enough under SYG. By that measure, Rand Paul could have shot protesters because he was skeered.

On the paintball thing-

I assume "counterprotesters" are confident that the cops know who the good guys are but it is really a very bad idea to be waving something that looks very much like a real gun around in the middle of a chaotic situation.

I had the exact same thought.

But still funny that these wimpy little anteefer & blm whiners that riot, loot & burn are backside hurt over a paintball stain on their stolen coat & shoes.
