Re: Trumps Handling
“Okay” for most of us means, those people who never lost their own Protestant work ethic of “save, spend, and give” in proportions commensurate with their own industry (i.e. personal ambition, intelligence, and self-discipline) and thrift (i.e. those who scrupulously spend less than they have or make).
The vast majority will survive the Coronavirus pandemic, just as we will also survive either four more years of Trump or the election of a President Joe Biden and whomever will be making decisions for him. Markets will fluctuate. Corn and beans will continue to get planted and then grow. Kids will eventually go back to school. Teenagers will still do dumb things. Old folks will die. New ones will be born. Air conditioning, potable water, flush toilets, hot showers, WiFi, winter Blueberries, fish being caught, and fresh coffee are not going away anytime soon. In other words, the sun will come up tomorrow and life is going to be okay for most.
The only thing that keeps me up at night is asking what happens to the social security recipients, the government workers, the pensioners, and our perpetual wards of the state or indigenous urban people who now rely upon stable, yet untethered and uncollateralized paper money?
If the fiat currency of the world (a.k.a. the US dollar) should every die through either hyper-inflation or deep and unimaginable deflation, everything I have written above is kaput.

Re: Trumps Handling
Every time Packard posts I can’t help thinking about an old joke.
Dentist says I have some good news and some bad new.
OK, Doc, give me the bad news.
You need 3 root canals.
Wow. OK, what’s the good news?
Well, you see that hot young blonde hygienist? Yeah, well I’ve been xxxxing her.

Breaking that down specifically, normalcy bias suggests that the government will always take care of people who own land or stocks because they have to and they always will.
So far it certainly is playing out that way.
And I'm not suggesting that people who are reasonably prudent and well off won't be OK but one might prefer not to be just OK in a fairly well degraded society.

Best argument yet against government run health care. The government always picks winners and losers based on how big of bribe they can or will offer.

Re: Trumps Handling
How can you have anything on your mind other than the Packers having used a 1st round pick on a colored QB?
I’ve never used sports Twitter but some friends who do are following developments and are telling me that they wouldn't be surprised if the Sconnie Storm Troopers didn’t defy CV and storm Lambaue.
Probably good that you’ve got Evers and the bars are closed. Otherwise, there would have been street riots,

"doofus" must have already been taken in the family or cousins when "bruce" was selected as a name.
Do you ever see a person, and not notice the color of their skin or other racial characteristics?

Re: Trumps Handling
Bruce,
true enough, but all good things must end. Aaron Rogers, like the ultra reliable Brett Favre before him, is not immune from the destructive nature of the game.
With Aaron Rodgers, the Packers are a reliable post season team. A single season ending NFL play, however, and the Green & Gold are lucky to go even 500. That's a lot of eggs in just one basket.
