Trumputin
This seems to be the best way to subscibe it.
Billionaire racketeer oligarch perpetually has his captive domestic and foreign propaganda press promoting the idea that western democracy doesn't work because if it did it would be bad for his gig.*
Thus the rise of a candidate in the US (and his russian influenced alt right suporters) who promotes the same notion is a gift from heaven.
One of the funniest things is the huge home run that Putin's NY PR firm hit with Vlad's glam shots and the Tribe. Sex sells so it is a big double with both the sexualization of guns and homoerotic suggestions of the strong man's bare bosum.
*fair enough that a democracy that lets The Other vote doesn't work- for you.

Re: Trumputin
What did Trump do, give putin control over 25% of our uranium or something? Did he work a deal with them where we give up a bunch of nucs while they increase their's? Did he tell them to wait until after the election so he could have more flexibility? Did he set up an unsecrue server in his basement so they could hack into our nations classified intel?

Re: Trumputin
You Dems didn`t give one damn when the Soviets were expanding into Afghanistan, eastern Europe and central America. Now all of a sudden Russia is the "worst country in the world"...yeah right after they got rid of communism. Here`s what the Libs mocked Romney about in 2012...they didn`t think Russia was a problem then.

Re: Trumputin
Huh? The most aggressive overt and covert activities in those places were carried out by Democrat administrations or under substantial Dem control Congresses. Back in the pre-neocon days when a powerful cadre of Congressional Democrats were referred to as "Hawks", bought, sold and owned by the defense industry.
Brush up a bit, say, on the what's and when's of Guatemala and El Salvador.
The voters in the party (both parties, for the most part actually) have done a good job of stemming that, but it did leave an opening for the rise of neoconservatives. An equally sinister, if not easier to conceal under paper mache patriotism, movement that arguably is much more universally destructive than any industry proliferating "Cold War" scheme. Those were more just materially expensive and wasteful. But didn't ever really threaten entire societies, as the imperialism shaded over by neoconservatism does.
And BTW, BOTH of these Presidential candidates are soiled by it. One of them at least represents a party that is in the process of reforming itself on the matter. The other rapidly becoming a hybrid, strange brew of all things nefarious.
The tendency of propagandists to play the "Soviet" card when discussing Russia is as stark a mirror into the diminished level of geopolitical knowledge and awareness in the general U.S. citizenry as there is.
You must have seen wehav's hideous statement the other day about all the lives we have squandered fighting "communism" in our legacy of imperialist undertakings.
Propaganda driven "just knowing", to the power of infinity.

Re: Trumputin
Do you recal the "Dear Comendente" letter by Dems that was treasonous?
http://www.nytimes.com/1984/04/20/us/congress-letter-to-nicaragua-dear-comandante.html
I still say, Libs that now hate Putin, never had one bad thing to say about this Soviet Russia leader.

Re: Trumputin
The outreach was part of the transformation from the Cold War fascade. Note who is responsible for the kerfuffle. The most hideous man who ever wanted to be President who never got any serious consideration. In his own party or in the public eye. Retread 60s and 70s "hawk" holdover. I've got a buddy who says it is entirely possible that Newt and Bill Clinton were twins separated at birth. Boomer traitors to anything genuinely progressive..or conservative... who wanted to hang on to the spoils of actual growth. Without lifting a finger, other than to stroke the right holders.
Gorby was Putin on training wheels. Just not enough global financing yet to pull off the oligarch scheme. But seeding the landscape. He was an early generation elitist capitalism's boy toy.
