Two way street of free speech

Generational lack of parenting has brought us to this point.   What I`m talking about is the Wisconsin school photo of some kids allegedly doing a "Nazi salute" they will not be punished by the school and sad to say, no they should not be punished.   I think WWII was so long ago that it`s become  ancient history in the digital age.

I grew up in the 70`s and 80`s and many of our Dads, uncles, grandparents were veterans of WWII.  We knew about WWII atrocities and doing a Nazi salute would`ve been the same as taking a dump on the teacher`s desk in front of the class...no one would do that.  The school would`ve punished someone doing that, but I assure you there would be a worse hell at home when parents heard about it.

All that said, in this day and age of kneeling at sporting events national anthem, kids promoting immoral acts in their high school speeches and kids doing communist slautes of the clenched fist, a Nazi salute has sadly become small potatoes.   😞

In a letter to parents Baraboo Superintendent Lori Mueller said the district can’t punish the students because they are protected by the First Amendment.

“We cannot know the intentions in the hearts of those who were involved,” she wrote Wednesday, in the letter obtained by the Wisconsin State Journal. “Moreover, because of students’ First Amendment rights, the district is not in a position to punish the students for their actions.”

It said it had completed most of its investigation into the images, but some “key details” remain unclear.

You are against Nazi salutes. EXCEPT when white national groups do it at trump rallies or when neo Nazis use it to intimidate voters.

Oh, wise one-explain to this lowly peasant how you can compare someone's exercise of free speech to someone else's attempt to deny that free expression.

comes awful close to ."many fine people on both sides".

But the difference is probably too subtle for a deplorable to understand.

A serious suggestion of Socialism would have been seen in the same light, once upon a time.
