You are correct. All I know is that most of Arizona is rightwing conservative and most businesses here hire illegals because they work cheap and the businesses don't want them to have to leave.  Sure the businesses get caught once in a while (sheriff joe has to get headlines periodically) but they pay a fine and go back to business as usual.  As long as businesses would rather pay less, there will be illegals.

I did not say the left was the ONLY ones.  If I need to clarify, the left ALSO has done its fair share, to push wages and living conditions down.

If you don't belive me, visit one of those 'sanctuary cities', where they vowed to not turn in anyone being there illegally.  Check out the unemployment rate, wages, and those on unemployment.

When Fremont, Nebraska passed an ordinance, requiring proof of citizenship to live there, the crime rate went down, unemployment went down, and the average wages went up.

Or as long as people are willing to work for a certain wage, there will be someone willing to pay less till they find out how low can they go. Why pay $15 if I can pay $10 or so on. The problem comes with both border security as well as unscrupulous business people. It takes both for the excess employees to bring about a willingness to work for less. If you are short workers business have to compete for your time and will pay accordingly.

OH MY GOSH!  A place, that actually checks for illegal activity!  

The are not doing any kind of 'checkpoints', or searching for illegals, although they are requiring that legal immigrants have their ID with them when driving, or doing business (which is also a Federal law, in fact, I think they are to have their proper ID with them anytime they are out and about).
What they did, was impose fines, for knowingly doing business with someone here illegally.   You know, following the laws already on the books, except that they put some teeth in them.

Would you agree, or disagree, that penalizing the businesses that knowingly hire ilegals, would be the best way to keep illegals from being hired?
Would you agree, or disagree, that penalizing the slumlords who knowingly rent crappy apartments to illegals, would be the best way to cut down on that practice?

That is all they did.  They penalized those profiting from exploiting the illegals.  The illegals themselves, are not being chased down, and deported.  It is just that the demand for their business has dried up.

They now have less unemployment, and higher average wages than before.   Are you saying that is a bad thing?

You would have to show the law that says a person can be fined or arrested for selling something to an illegal.  They could be the above if they HIRED them but to sell you something doesn't get it.

Who said anything about selling anything to an illegal? I said 'doing business' and specifically said hiring, and renting housing to them. I guess I may e wasn't specific enough, but I thought my examples explained it pretty well. The illegals also aren't the ones getting fines, it is the employers, and slumlords. I can't remember if banks are included or not.
