Now Kerry says we owe the Iranians 1.7 billion dollars for some trust fund over 30 years ago. You can't make this stuff up. Next thing you know they'll be giving away the Statue of Liberty.

Do you understand how money in banks works?  Several million dollars in an interest bearing trust fund for 30 years will earn some major bucks.  It is their money not yours nor the govt's.  We aren't buying anything.  The assets were unfrozen.

They are a democracy, we are a democracy.  They have the undue influence of religious clerics.  We don't, but the right spectrum of our polity insists that we install a system where religious clerics have it as well.

Our democracy has a history of doing a good job of keeping things secular.  Ignored by the right here is the fact that Iran has a large and growing secular mass, particularilly among the young.  They want to be more like us and the worst of you folks want us to be like the worst of  them.

So then your answer is to give the religious clerics another 1.7 billion dollars to use to fund terror. You have to wonder which side Barack Obama supports.
