Re: Wealth Tax, decade`s new buzzword?
typical liberal....what the law provides for, not what is right or moral. Just like with their aged parents....if the law allows them to dump them on county welfare rolls, they do it in a heartbeat and spend their money on trips, trinkets and model Ts.

Re: Wealth Tax, decade`s new buzzword?
back to land taxes...I pay taxes in three different school districts, and for three different new buildings. I never voted against these...actually didn't get to in two cases, but the essence is that one particular form of wealth is singled out to pay for a community benefit.
Meanwhile you have lawyers, doctors, truck company owners etc with large retirement plans, that don't pay the thousands and tens of thousands that are levied on land owners. Sure you can argue that they tend to live in a mansion and pay on that, but maybe some of the rest of us want a McMansion too, eh?

Re: Wealth Tax, decade`s new buzzword?
hardly a mcMansion , 1864 farmhouse renovated/updated over the last 25 years , no collector cars , few things other than what is needed to run a cattle farm and trucking company , current occupants include the wife, myself and an aging alzheimer sufferer that is my dad. The second year we lived here we moved her terminally ill grandfather in with us for the few months he had left.
You that assume and just know , and are afflicted with green eyed monsters make ***** out of you and me. None the less, have a good day.
