Weird Stuff on Election Day

https://townhall.com/columnists/derekhunter/2020/11/12/some-weird-stuff-happened-in-that-election-n2...

Blacks all over the USA doubled their support for Trump, but in Philly, Detroit, Milwaukee...somehow they voted 100 percent for the old white guy whose signature bill was to put more of them in prison?

I don't know the truth, but frankly, this does seem to fail the smell test.

Re: Weird Stuff on Election Day

Personally, I think that a lame duck jobiden probably is more effective at ensuring a brighter future for America than for Trump to prevail in a disputed election through the courts and recounts.

America knows the score...they know that the majority of Americans have rejected socialism by voting in more Republicans, and forcing the ones in office to shift to the right to avoid being voted out.

2022 looks pretty bright from where I stand....assuming that all hell doesn't break loose down in Georgia and the democrats get to play with a stacked deck for two full years.

Joe Manchin may or may not be a man of his word...I would not want to bet on it. If he was a decent man he would switch parties.

Math, Einstein.

If you gain 5% of a segment that votes 90% against you but they turn out at a 7% higher rate (than '16), you still lose on net.

And while they're one of the tightest groups, African Americans aren't entirely monolithic. People in low income urban precincts are still going to vote very heavily D.

You should think before you post this crap.

Re: Weird Stuff on Election Day

Doesn't matter much if Manchin is an R or a D.

He was always going to be a tough vote for any very progressive stuff.

As would have been (or may be) true for at least half a dozen in the D Senate caucus, although they will vary by issue.

Which is why all the hysteria about "communism" was always just that, but I bet a pretty big topic when the doorknockers were out canvassing the hollers and manufactured housing parks.

Re: Weird Stuff on Election Day

BTW, I was always mystified by the sway "the Clintons" had over the Black political class.

But it didn't translate to the rank and file. Black urban turnout in '16 at the level of '12 (didn't even need to be '08) would have put her over the top easily.

Re: Weird Stuff on Election Day

Joe is a good one.

He’s actually more genuinely progressive than some of the newbies who have co-opted the term, not unlike the rabid, insanely MAGA crowd has “conservative”.

Check Joe on his views on health care, the environment, pay equity, regulation of financial institutions,  the role of Unions, workplace safety etc.  the old boring prog stuff....

That's the sort of progressive that Mitch was sent by his wealthy handlers to kill.

I'm talking the entire GND, M4A etc. that the boyz were all hysterical about.

The dem party has abandoned Joe Manchin. Their tent no longer has room for his ideas.

Let's let the states decide this thing

https://townhall.com/tipsheet/mattvespa/2020/11/12/former-clinton-aide-offers-another-take-on-stealt...

States should pick the national leader, and they will be accountable to their voters, just like the founding fathers envisioned.

California, New York...etc....they can handle things on a state basis, and quit dictating to the rest of us.

Fair enough?
