Well they approved it

No rumble strips, it`ll sail through congress and up to "Mr Big" for signature.   Look for inflation, I don`t know how they`ll keep it off mainstreet this time...or maybe they will.  Alice in Wonderland.

Well, with just 49,000 jobs created last month, I'm not sure inflation is going to be that big of a worry, recession maybe, but not inflation.

The Biden effect.

Just wait and see what has happened since King Dictator Biden with a stroke of his pen did.

All the jobs lost with his edicts.

Oil patch workers, wall builders etc. Those were good paying jobs that had a lot of secondary jobs created that are now good as gone.

The next two years of this Kings rule will make the 4 years of little Jimmy Carter's rule look great.

Time to bring back the Carter misery index.

These are meat and potato people not tofu and mung bean freaks.

This is gonna get ugly.

The Biden effect.

Re: Well they approved it

These $1.9 Trillion has a lot of aspects that have nothing to do with "Covid relief" and more of a Mr Big`s Christmas list  Brussels, Belgium will be pleased.   Brussels, Wisconsin or Brussels, Illinois not so much.   I get it, there`s pockets of hurt and the "fish for one day" of an extra $1400 will be appreciated and that could`ve more than been achieved with the GOP $600 Billion bill.  The $1.9 Trillion porkulous bill is over 3 times too big full of cancerous crap.  The $1400 is just bait for the trap.  Of course they wanted it to pass in bipartisanship to get the GOP`s fingerprints on it to share the blame.

Re: Well they approved it

BA - You're right to be worried, but the inflationary aspect is probably a ways off. The short term worry is the debt bubble of $75 trillion dollars. And it's not just the government with it's now-$28 trillion debt - all of business and personal transactions are facilitated by debt. How much cash do you have in your wallet? How far would that take you if your credit card suddenly didn't work any more? What if the bank cut off your LOC - could you buy inputs without it?

The unbelievable idiots we elected seem to think that you can create wealth by printing money and handing it out (or in our case by changing some digits in your account electronically). You would think that if you can actually create wealth by making fake money it would have been done before. Oh wait - it's been tried MANY times, and every time it ends in abject failure.

Fortunately for us we are in the fixed asset (land and equipment) and commodity business. Those things are never worth zero, but stocks and currencies CAN go to zero. No Fiat currency has ever survived a full credit cycle, and the US Dollar went from being money to being currency in 1971 when it was unlinked from gold. Now companies can borrow unlimited funds to buy each other up and create monopolies (think of all the hyphenated companies out there) and control their markets. Fiat currencies let politicians run wild, promising all kinds of "free" stuff, and soon people just start voting for whoever promises the most free stuff (like in Georgia recently). It is the road to financial ruin and happens late in the life of every empire and every democracy (and we are both).

$20 an acre

K - My FSA guy says that the $20/acre you ask about was in the December bill with the $600 stimulus, but they probably won't come out with signup for that program until the CARES "top-up" thing is done, which has a Feb 26 deadline. Look for "CFAP-3" ($20.acre) after that.
