What is the best way?

I'm looking at employing the services of a man from California who bills himself as a Master Herbalist Holistic Nutritionalist for help in battling my cancer.  However I would like to do some back ground check on the man to see if there have been any consumer complaints lodged against him.   He is located in Carson, Calf.  Any suggestions?

With the most powerful instrument, in the world at your finger tips, dagwud. You should not be blindsided by anything, along that line.

I would start with www.epinions.com

They may not cover that thing, but it is free, and gives feedback on products and services from users.

www.angieslist.com is another good one, but I think they have a fee

When my mom was fighting her cancer, she had gone to the Mayo clinic, and her Dr. there was helpful in advice as to what to try, and who to go to, locally.

Re: What is the best way?

Nothing comes up when I do a Better Business Bureau search.

My sister in the medical field said she could not find the man listed with the California Holistic Medical Association although she believes that is not a requirement.

I believe these holistic / herbalists are not bond by the same strict requirements and licensing as doctors or pharmacists which makes it a bit harder to do back ground checks.

That is why I suggested angies list, and epinions.  They are websites, where customers give feedback on goods and services.  It would be a crap shoot, whether or not the guy you are talking about is listed, but only takes a few minutes to try.

Cancer treatment center of america is about 3 miles from my home in tulsa and I have heard soome good words about them. They treat the whole body with medical and radiatrion therapy along with nutritian and psycological health.

I do hope you are still getting positive reports from your physicians.

Re: What is the best way?

It appears Don that the doctors at Mayo are starting to run out chemo drugs to try on my tumors as the half dozen used so far have been for the most part ineffective.

Because of this I have been spending more and more time investigating herbal and holistic treatments.   Most seem to have the same recommendations such as cutting way back or eliminating sugar, red meat, white flour and breads from your diet.  They typically recommend eating lots of fresh fruits and vegetables along with brown rice and various other vitamin and herbal supplements such green tea capsules, raw garlic, certain mushrooms and apricot seeds to name a few.

The frustrating thing is when I question my doctors about diet changes to help combat my cancer only my old home town family doctor agrees.   My two oncologists at Mayo think it is a silly idea even though they admit they have no answers or ideas left on how to heal me.

If anyone owns stock in Wells Blue Bunny I suggest you start selling now as it appears they may be losing one of their best customers.

Re: What is the best way?

My mom did many of the things you mention.  The doctors gave her 'less than 6 months' to live, and 2 1/2 years later, she walked into their office, for a 'second opinion'.

It did not cure her, but it definately slowed the progress of the cancer, and she was walking around until the last 2 weeks or so, and the night before she passed away, was still very coherent, visiting with people.  She died in her own bed, with the family around, which was pretty much her last wish.
