What is to be gained
By a city that fires 30% of it's police force for refusing to get the jab? What is to be gained if a city fires 30% of it's fire fighters for refusing the jab? Makes zero sense.

Re: What is to be gained
As you've said its about power. Why threaten to take someones retirement if the retire rather than take the jab? If the logic supported an all vaxed work force them retiring would not matter. Its about force control and accepting the master.

Re: "What is to be gained"? Well, ....
... if you're talking about Chicago, they can save a whole lot of money for one. In 2015, Chicago went on a hiring spree and 20% more officers, so today Chicago has over 50 officers per capita, more than New York, more than Los Angeles, more than any other big city in America. What did they get for all that money, nothing, absolutely noting.
The police officers just gave Lightfoot the perfect excuse to get rid of the deadwood and save a whole bunch of money.
As for crime, 20% more police officers and effect on crime, crime is still 30% of what it was in the 1990s when they had about the same number of police.

Re: "What is to be gained"? Well, ....
234 shot so far this month in the democrat run shîthòle of Chicago. Yeah, they need fewer cops.
But, they were trying to force cops not to take retirement to stay on the job and take the clot shot.

What we already knew- police aren’t nearly so much the general problem as police unions are.
Meanwhile, some of the dim bulbs over at marketing complaining about those dang political unions at Deere.

Not surprisingly, most conservative right to work states have exceptions for police unions.

Well 3020, you gotta remember that these liberal cities are hiring social workers to take the place of police fire fighters.....this is part of their defund the police initiative, so it would seem that they could hire more social workers to take the place of all those police and fire-fighters that have resigned, retired, been fired, etc.
Also, the liberal elitist leaders of these cities live in safe neighborhoods and the elitist of the liberal elite have armed body guards.
Also, 30% is infinitesimal.

Re: What is to be gained
What you know about cities is a perfect parallel to the sort of, or often the total blank lack of, answers the host gets on Jeopardy or The Chase or Do You Want to be a Millionaire when the question is a simple query about farming/agriculture.
If an answer is given at all it is generally based on some myth the contestant tripped over at some point in their life and then hung on to.
