What it will look like 2

looks like it's over. We'll see how it goes. The system that the founders set up AFTER they won the war stays in play. I hope she sits back and learns the ropes and let's Sen. Grassleyvmentor her, but we've seen her soul sister Shelly in action. Quite the development: http://m.huffpost.com/us/entry/6088204

Re: What it will look like 2

Bruce, I honestly do not see why you`re afraid of this apparent coming GOP sweep.  So much crap has been pushed on us the last 6 yrs there will be no untangling it.  If you wanted the mess known as "Obamacare" repealed, 2012 Mitt Romney was the last hope of that.  If we are blessed and Joni wins on Tuesday, homos will still be gettin` married the 10% of them out of the 1% of them that make up the population that want to get married will get married and Christians will be forced to bake cakes for them.

Every time there`s a shooting, the liberals that do remain will be calling for "meaningful gun banning".  Negros will still riot....not much will change over the past 6 yrs.

Republicans may tap the brakes a little on handing out money, although in the past Republicans have handed out plenty of money.

The McLaughlin Group consensus is the Senate picks up +9 Republicans and the Republicans add to the House.  That will make me happy......howeeeeever, are they going to rubberstamp Obama?  Have they learned anything from the past?  That you`ll NEVER win in a give away contest of other people`s money against the Democrats, they are masters at that.

If a Republican majority isn`t played right, the blame for this economy will be taken off Obama.  It`s been spun that we`re in a "recovery" "unemployment down"  "stock market up" yada yada. So, if the chickens come home to roost in the next 2 years all the Republicans will get is handed a very hot potato and the music will stop and the Republican majority will be caught standing with no place to sit down.

I`m cautiously optimistic, but the only actual remedies for the economy are NOT things that will get you re-elected in the next election.

It doesn't matter when you have so many in this country like this jacob guy takin dope

Re: What it will look like 2

Where did I say anything about being afraid? I'm just curious about how things are going to go inside the GOP caucus. The far right is going to lay claim to credit for attaining the Senate majority. They want Obama's hide and I belivesome of them think the election results are a mandate for that.
. He's been a huge **bleep** for 6 years and what remains to be seen is whether or not if he finally fights back if it will hurt or help the party that sent him there.

Re: What it will look like 2

Well Bruce, as a Minnesotan you post alot about the Iowan Joni Ernst....which is fine, but a win by her is in your mind...no?

look our postings on here isn`t going to sway anyone one way or another and I`m not getting any younger so I`ll at least be honest.  Obama was a failure, at a time this country really needed a leader and someone to bring the country together, Obama made things worse.  I know I know I know I freaking know "Oh the Republicans wouldn`t work with him...they wanted him to be a one term president" ...that is ridiculous!  Obama was give a long honeymoon, he had both Houses of Democrats, they`re once claim to fame was they voted with him 95% of the time, now that is they`re detriment. The Republicans were warned to "get on board with Obamacare, amnesty, gun control or you`ll get left in the dust!"  well that DID NOT  happen!   Campaigns are going to be won this cycle by asking a Democrat candidate "Did you vote for president Obama?" ...it would be less politically risky to admit to kicking your dog than voting for Obama.

If there is some sort of "Teabagger takeover" you can thank Obama for that.  Just like W Bush being AWOL on his 2nd term resulted in us getting Obama.

Obama isn`t a personable character, he just has this arrogance that "THIS IS WHAT I WANT, GIVE IT TO ME OR GO TO HELL!"  see Clinton was more of a "car salesman" he didn`t push things too far..."oh you don`t want homosexuals in the Army...hmmm how about Don`t Ask, Don`t Tell? "  see he furthered the liberal agenda, but wasn`t afraid to occaisionally take "one step back".

People are afraid to critcize Obama for obvious reasons, however it`s looking like they may take out their frustrations on the Democrat party.

WHAT other than the ACA has been PUSHED on you? You don't have to marry a man. You don't have to pay as many taxes. You still have your guns. You can still worship as you see fit. You still have your farm welfare. So tell me WHAT has been pushed on you!!!

BA still thinks I am going to drive into his yard one day, honk my horn and demand my gay cake.

He doesn't make or sell cakes so that is a ridiculous claim, but it tingles him deeply to repeat it over and over and over again.

If you read is bizarre yapping...thats what he does all the dammed time, regardless of the topic, it doesn't even have to be true, so long as it sounds good. HE is epitome of the Fox demographic except most his age arent like that and think he is a frooty nut.

I can not fathom how the guy  has ever managed to run a farm without loads of common sense from someone else.

Re: What it will look like 2

I find the Ernst thing to simply be fascinating and not all that surprising. The evangelical thing has alway lain deeply ingrained in rural Iowa but has generally been latent. It's become organized and energized by repulsion from a few things that secular and liberal folks welcomed but weren't necessarily motivated to go to war over. Not mountains that app porter in concept but not to the point of activism were going to die for. While it looks like a victory and will register in the Win column it isn't really anything more than the result of a great political effort against a sleepy and disaffected outfit. And destined to become a rather spectacular series of moments.
