Re: Once, Again.....

First of all, in that great rightwing example, the proper grammar following plurals would be to use "weren't" instead of "wasn't".  And the second thing is that I doubt very seriously that they were trying to convert anyone.  I am sure that as a former school board member and educator, that they were introducing a different culture and religion to these young people to help them understand that all people are not alike.  These kids hear a lot of things about the world of Islam through TV, radio and their parents and friends.  It is good to hear differing ideas.  That is how we grow.  But I am sure that most of the rightwingers on here learned all they needed to know in Kindergarten.  Can you show me any evidence that they set out to convert kids to Islam???

Re: Reckless endangerment of other peoples lives

Hey 4WD, according to Rush Limbaugh's show today, only about $9,000 has been collected for the NYC Mosque so far. QAnd we all know that Rush is never, ever wrong just like Ollie.

Re: Reckless endangerment of other peoples lives

I know you are right Schu, and in the beginning I am sure the cooler heads felt the mosque was OK and just keep it a low profile. But it didn't last, and now it is a full blown issue that we must prevail as leaders of the free world to protect our most sacred places from desecration. It is like putting a mosque up within a block of the Arlington Cemetary. JUST WON'T HAPPEN...  Some places in this USA are sacred, and we must keep them that way for the children to respect and learn why they are there. That GD Iman from NY was on the TV last night saying crapola and threatening...That justs burned me up. Hang the bustard!

I wouldn't be suprised is 'ol Rushbo isn't a secrete contributor. He hates NY,

Re: What would motivate people to burn the koran? Because he is a attention getting nut.

Terry Jones was kicked out of his church in Cologne Germany last year, because of his hate and fear mongering- http://www.spiegel.de/fotostrecke/fotostrecke-59146.html  -  http://abcnews.go.com/US/terry-jones-pastor-burn-koran-day/story?id=11575665.

Prior to his anti-Muslim diatribes at the Dove World Outreach Center in Gainsville, Florida, Jones founded a church in Cologne, Germany, in the 1990s. Members of the congregation kicked him out last year because of his radicalism.

Say what?

"It is like putting a mosque up within a block of the Arlington Cemetary."

Those 2 world wars, Korea,  Vietnam and the first Gulf War and all of those little wars were over Isalm too?

But then I suppose...Rommel was in No. Africa....and McKinnley's legions tortured Moslem Phillipinos, creating what some called the legal precedent to Abu Grihab and waterboarding, even if it was before Geneva... so yeah...maybe...jeeze.

$9000 would not even cover an option any part of the ground in NYC so you can use common sense and know that is a falsehood.

Re: Once, Again.....

You say they were trying to teach them a different religion and culture, Fine but make sure they study all religions then. I doubt they will do that . I thought religion of all kinds was to be left out of the public schools? I might be wrong.

Re: What are you fighting?

I would say that what we are doing now is just policing . I might be wrong but from what I have read and listened to this is more than likely what they are calling what we are doing over there.

Re: Reckless endangerment of other peoples lives

In WWII, the Muslim nations were our allies against Germany in N. Africa. They helped us. Just a little FYI thing.
