I admit that we had no Muslim mosques in our little town but if there had been, we would have learned about Islam also. The world is not black or white. Give it up! Holy Columbia, Brian....You were so focused on your ideology, that you completely glossed over what I wrote.....Let me type it again for you to, hopefully, read it, this time.....
At the local Indianola Public Elementary School...Irving School.... had muslim Iowa House Representative Ako Abdul-Samad and an Islamic imam visit the third grade to teach the kids about Islam, gave them muslim names to feel the part of being muslim.....AND, taught the kids how to PRAY to Allah.
The parents were not consulted.
Also, in the Indianola High School, this past year, the High School 11th grade had to attend an assembly that had a muslim representative tell the children how wonderful Islam is. He did not go into Sharia Law and how women are treated as chattel and property.... and how death is the penalty for most offences to "Islam".
Why, pray tell, would they teach the children how to pray to Allah, if they were not intending in persuading them to consider following Islam???
My oldest daughter was in Kindergarten, in a different building at the time. This happened at the end (April, I believe) of that year. We let her finish that year there and we set up housekeeping in the next county by Labor Day. I drive back and forth to the farm and stay over when the work is busy, ever since.
Indianola Schools do not permit any observance of the Christmas Holiday..... It is the "Winter Break", and the "Holiday Tree" (formerly known as a Christmas Tree), and they sing "Holiday Songs" (the ones that have absolutely no mention of Christ).
No Brian..., they have a liberal axe to grind and my family was not going to be a part of THAT.
Our current school (shhh, don't tell anyone) does not have a hissy fit over someone wearing a Christian tee-shirt, sings a few real Christmas songs, and have a Christmas break at the end of December.
Liberalism is getting harder and harder to escape, but it is still possible. In Indianola, after the Islam Indoctrination deal....several families started their own home schooling programs and there are now Two Christian schools in town. People will not be forced to accept the liberal indoctrination, they will find ways to fight it off.
We were successful in getting one Christian school board member elected last year, and he is fighting the good fight with the rest of the socio-humanist bunch. Next election, we hope to add to the members of the school board, until we get a majority and reign in the liberal doctrine once again. Then, Indianola will be a town worth living in, again.
