Re: Why its never over until its over

You'd think that it would actually add up to something for the political opposition.  But your leadeship doesn't really seem interesting in going with it.  I suppose one could call it a matter of deep principle:

Without a secure border we are nothing more than an extension of Mexico.

Re: Why its never over until its over

Explain the "logic" of Mexicans all of a sudden voting Republican just because amnesty is passed. Actually the Republicans will LOSE votes because Democrats will get credit anyway and racist, sexist, homophobes, NRA guyslike ME wont bother showing up at the polls because then truly there wont be a nickels worth difference in either party. I heard the same 'repubs need to support amnesty' crap from Joe Klein on The CMShow. If we start taking advice from a guy that only has supported democrats then our goose really is cooked. Like the naked man offering you his shirt.

Re: Why its never over until its over

Exactly.  That's why the guy wrote teh Salon article.  What you say is undoubtedly what policy will be.

Geeze you are radical.

Just as you would presume that all  followers of Isalm are Jihadists now all potential immigrants to the U.S.are Mexicans?

I can see why you support Obama on this. Plenty of cheap labor for his big business donors and new demand for his phones. A win win situation for the progressives. NY city wants to give them the vote even if they are not citizens.

Re: Why its never over until its over

Where did you carve out that I "support Obama" on this, as if it were somethign that he jst invented or dreamed up.

Sound immigration reform has been a platform issue for decades.  Not biting.  He isn't the root on the IRS scandal.  Isn't the deep throat of Bhengazi  (the Issa lynch mob already talked to the former Sec. and to other people who knew what happened and weren't satisfied as they didn't get what they wanted so are looking for somebody else).

He's a really lousy leader on issues.  But this IRS thing isn't "his issue".  It was an action, taken by a pace of bueraucrats in a long standing Federal agency.   Maybe no differnet than a group of Majors or Lt. Colonels deciding they wanted to turn their part of the military into a branch of Liberty University.

The IRS thing is going to have a nice tail on it thougth for various factions within the GOP.   Once the haters and the tight--a$$es get organized on it it will hang for a long, long time.  Nice stroke of luck.  Maybe even get us some meanigful tax reform talk going.  That could turn out to be good for everybody.

You are grasping at straws Bruce. TPM is trying to bury this but it is becoming appent Obama is worse than Richard Nixon.

snip-

Just months after being slimed by President Barack Obama’s re-election campaign,  Mitt Romney supporter and businessman Frank VanderSloot was informed that he was  going to be audited not only by the Internal Revenue Service, but by the Labor  Department as well.

Two months later, the IRS informed VanderSloot he and his wife were going to be  audited, Strassel reported. Two weeks after that, VanderSloot was notified by  the Labor Department that it was going to “audit workers he employs on his  Idaho-based cattle ranch under the federal visa program for temporary  agriculture workers,” reported Strassel.

Did ya see this?

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/05/13/tom-brokaw-obama-irs_n_3266355.html

Brokaw, Chuck Tood, MSNBC...all ripping.  It's obvious that Obama is so impressed by his 2 electoral wins that he doens't feel instantly compelled ot firmly respond to every thing that come sup.  hard for him, I suppose, to sort stuff like this that should definitely be responded to firmly (which I see that he actually did this moring...no idea if he took the Brokaw comment as marching orders or not.  that's up for you and ther rest of the machinery to decipher)

from all of the drummed up business by government and administrations over time (never telling the truth or cooperating with seeking it on serious matters of foreign policy...Benghazi, yellow cake/selling out a CIA agent, Ahmed Chalibi, The Maine, Gulf of Tonkin, abducting and scurrying off with the Democratically elected President of a sovereign Caribbean Nation,  an allie nation torpedoing of a U.S. ship, literally starving the Natives in the Minnesota River Valley to the point of stealing a cow in order to bring down the wrath of the settler's God on them etc.etc.etc.).  I'd be tickled s##tless if the man that I voted for in 2008 would have turned out to be "The One" who quit with that crap.  But once again as with every other "one" it's obviously not how we go. Never have.

But, again, here is a real opportunity for the GOP to try and fix that historic and endemic system.  Not sure that I've seen anything in any coverage or commentary so far about that being what the great reformers like Issa have in mind however.  Seems to me that they just want possession of the privledge back for their side from the man who they see as holding it fraudulently.
