Re: Dave Letterman... Critiquing on Sex Scandals???

I liked Letterman last night asking what goes through a man's mind right before he hits the button on his camera as he holds it out in front of him pointing it as his junk.

I would figure that David Letterman would be the last guy to make a comment about sex scandals after his "habits" were publicly "aired" 2 years ago.

I have not watched Letterman since he made that comment about some NY Mets baseball player should rape Sarah Palin's 12 year old (at that time) daughter.

Letterman and Weiner.... birds of a feather, I would think. ( and I am not talking about sexual habits)   .... just sleazy liars.

Re: Real Story Aired on Today Show This Morning.

Isn`t GTO`s tagline "A wiseman never changes his mind, a fool always"?  Smiley Very HappyMaybe I have it backwards.  Imagine if Paul Ryan did just 10% of what the Wienerman did??  The LOL and Hypocrite! Hypocrite! squad would be out in full force.   Now when it`s a Demmy in hot water, nary a peep....Oh I know, I know "You righties are doing such a good job, we don`t want to interupt you" ....Riiiight!

Re: Wiener fesses up.

If I had known how sensitive you were about Sarah Palin, I might not have posted that little line a while back. I didn't realize it would be such an issue....geesh! The woman is on tour to draw attention to herself. If she expects to avoid the media, drop the bus tour and take a vacation like the rest of us.

Meanwhile, pert to this, despite all of your cries of outrage and blaming liberals for their support of Wiener, I frankly do not see any support here. Care to point it out to this obviously blind one? I saw a reporting, but someone has to tell the news. I suppose only pitchforks, tar and feathers will do.

I didn't vote for this man. I can't vote him out and I offer no support for him. What he did was wrong and much better is expected of our "leaders." That seems obvious. Now, where is the support?

One roundly hated liberal icon on Weiner.

I feel bad about this, as much for what it says about human kind and our wonked out of control public sector as for the fact that this was (I'm presuing it will be "was"...can't see how he'll stay in Congress) one really good U.S. Congressman on policy and issues that really matter.

I feel bad about it in the same way that I felt really bad hearing about Republican Senator Coburn (whom I also admire as a member of Congress..one of the real good ones) being tanggled up in the Ensign sex affai,r which was every bit as creepy as the Weiner mess.

Re: Wiener fesses up.

I'm surprised by this behavior coming from Weiner simply because I thought he was smarter then that which is why I at first thought maybe it was a case of someone hacking into his Twitter account  Maybe he is big Brett Favre fan and thought he would try one of Brett's babe getter tactics.  Better then Rothlenberger tactics where you simply used brute force.

As I said earlier I think Weiner's biggest crime is lying and trying to blame others for his own poor choices and behavior.  After watching Weiner's mea culpa I think he may still be lying or at the least not being totally honest when he says, "Once I realized I had posted it (the picture) to Twitter I panicked, I took it down and said I had been hacked."   I'm guessing he got worried and took it down after Breitbart broke the story.   Right before Weiner say he panicked and took down the photo he admitted taking the picture with the intent of sending to the young lady it as part of a joke.

If he had just Twiitered this picture last Friday then the lady wasted no time and going forward with it.   NBC reports the lady had contacted Weiner first.  Now days I would think a politician has to be very careful as I think both parties would not be above using women or men to troll for suckers in the opposing party and try to seduce or lead them on so that they might be suseptable to making such a mistake just so it can be used to score political points.

I don't think he broke any laws based on what we know so far and think much of how I will eventually judge Weiner depends on the rest of the story.  Exactly what kind of pictures did he send to these six or so women?  Were these Twitter communications mutual or was it a case of Weiner being the aggressor and sending lewd pictures to women who showed no interest in receiving them?   Were all these women 18 or older?  Did these Twitter communications take place before he was married or after?   If Weiner passing all those questions then I think most of this blow over and his political career could survive although tainted.

No doubt Dems do not take as big of political hit for sexual scandals but I don't think that is result of some secret left wing conspiracy.  It is mainly because Repub voters tend to be older and more conservative and less likely to vote for a Repub caught up is a sexual scandal.   Sure there are some in the press and cable tv that hammer Repubs harder then Dems for sex scandals but generally those same media people will hammer the Repub harder on everything just as Beck or Rush will hammer Dems harder.

After doing a Google search on Weiner I think this is only going to get worse for him before it gets better as more people will start to follow Weiner news reports.  I see where TMZ, some celebrity gossip site is reporting that Weiner "exchanged sexual emails with former porn star Ginger Lee over a long period of time then coached her on how to lie about their relationship, offering his PR team's services."

I also came across a story in the New York Daily News that talks about how Weiner has publicly complained about UN diplomats rackings up racking up parking tickets in New York and then not paying them.  "Diplomats park illegally, ignore paying their parking tickets and expect New Yorkers to pick up the tab. This needs to end."   The Daily News reported that the Washinton paper Roll Call reported that Weiner had amassed $2,180 in tickets and never paid them until the paper started making inquiries.

Re: Real Story Aired on Today Show This Morning.

Who started this thread? Was it some rightie?

Whay Paul Ryan is doing is far worse than what Weiner di. Weiner made a fool of himself and embarrased his family and his supporters. Lying cannot be too much of a problem or you would campaign to remove most of your coherts here.

Given Weiners poor judgement I would still vote him back in to congress. Why. Because i aint voting for a saint or even the pope. I would be voting for the one that would most share my views on government. He would represent me better than most folks that do represent me.

What Ryan wants to do is to make seniors amd workers pay for the debt that they didn't create. Not even in part. It's an all out war gainst the aged and working class. Well Rtan set back his own pension? Will Rtan cut his own health care benefits? Will Rtan raise taxes on those that have benefited the most from low taxes for the last decade? No! he has a specific group in his site and we all know who it is.

Re: Wiener fesses up.

A sex scandal with no sex. This may be a DC first.

I see no support for him. But as others said I cannot vote against him or withhold funds.

Things like this remind me why wingers are so anti-gay. They see how badly marriage works for heterosexuals is working.

"I'm less judgmental about the "sin" that Weiner confessed to this afternoon, of sexting his junk or his chest shots to six women over three years. If you're as old as Weiner (46) and have never done something naughty but still legal, you're probably immune to the power of human desire, have no sense of fantasy, and have been living in a locked veal cage in a convent basement.

That he was caught lying about his personal life, and not about public policy, doesn't really matter to me. By demonstrating that he's as good a liar as he is an apologizer, Weiner tells us everything we need to know about him." -  Jack Schafer (SLATE.COM)

Why do you post, Knapper?

I don`t intend sound as snippy as the title implies, what I mean is do you want to preach to the choir?  "Yes Knapper good one, that Bachmann is a retard!"  "Kudos!! Knapper you sure figured out those teabaggers"..is that what you want??  Well, if you don`t want anyone disagreeing with you, your posts might get 3 replies and end up on page 5.  Myself, I catch a buzz off arguing, it tests the profoundness of my beliefs.  I don`t mind at all that you not "fooled" by the Republican milfs, but if you can`t defend your hatred of them, that`s a "you" problem. For what it`s worth Knapper your posts spark a good conversation, so stop being a baby.   Smiley Happy

Re: Real Story Aired on Today Show This Morning.

Good for you Don you did start the thread!  I was talking about the "LOL Hypocrite!  Hypocrite!" crowd that would decapitate Sarah Palin and dance on her lifeless body if she tweeted her junk to some cabana boy....you`re not quite that bad  Smiley Happy  Of course you would still vote for Wiener if you could, that makes my point. When Larry Craig was stepping on toes in the bathroom, we kicked his sorry kiester out of the Republican party.. which was a shame, he had a A rating from the NRA. As far as Wiener the Pelosi etal handwringing is all about "theater"  for the prudish Independent voters. The way is sounds NY will lose two congressmen anyway, so this might be an opportunity to 86 him.
