Winning trade war
I see Brazil or Argentina are considering a grain trading system for contracts to facilitate pricing of grains from South America instead of the Chicago one.
It would make it easier for traders to cover their positions for grains since the tariffs are adding another unknown and risky factor in trading using Chicago since the trade war started.
It would probably also make it simpler since they would use a measurement that is used when selling and shipping internationally instead of the old 56 or 60 lb units .
Trade disruptions do bring about changes.
i wonder how pulling other countries commodity out of Chicago trading might impact Chicago and pricing there?
