Re: Wouldn't the family recall...
They also said that the media portrayals of her brother were full of inaccuracies and/or falsehoods.

Re: Would you recall
Where is the incident report. I recall someone on this board, claiming that people accused of things are innocent, until 'proven' guilty, and accusations are just one person's word agains another. If it happened it school, there should be an incident report, detention records, etc.

Re: In perspective......
If Romney didn't do it, of course he wouldn't remember it.
You are going under the assumption of guilt, an assumption you chastise others for. What happened to the Kraft-t requirement of documented proof, or a conviction of some sort, before you believe accusations?
On the other hand, Romney had no choice but to answer this way.
If guilty, he doesn't want to admit it.
If innocent, and he says it never happened, he'd be branded a liar.
For all practical purposes, this is is only 'safe' answer, whether he is innocent, or guilty.

Re: Would you recall
That's the problem. I can't relate to it, as I wasn't even concieved when this all happened, so I have no idea how well memories from that far back are retained.

Re: Would you recall
Don, Don. How quickly you forget....
When called to testify at the Iran/Contra hearings, Pres. Ronald Reagan couldn't recall a thing.......repeatedly answering that he did not recall "this" or "that" detail of the various incidents involved....
Seems to be an occupational hazard for members of one political party.
You'd probably like to "fail to recall" that contribution you once made to the Reagan campaign, wouldn't you? KenJ

Re: Would you recall
A lot of that going around though.
While this story may be apochryphal it rings true. It goes that when Hillary C. was a junior counsel to the watergate investigation, she and the others marveled at the fact that if the Nixon team had merely come up with a good story and all stuck with it, little could have been accomplished from a legal point of view. That does remain one of the strange occurences of history- you had these guys who played like they were all tough but also seemed to have this tormented boy scout strain in them as well.
Hillary seemed to have absorbed the lesson well as both she and Mr. C. became very good at saying "I don't recall."
Falling into the conspriracy terroitoty on Iran Contra, Bill Casey was the guy who knew everything. He did have a brain tumor so who knows but he took a sudden and unexpected turn for the worse and died a few days before he was set to testify.
