Re: And we're not even in the log phase of the curve yet.

IHME projects a possible 614,000 dead by Feb. 1.  Listened to a hospital nurse who worked thru the first wave in Boston last spring, she admits she's genuinely frightened by what she saw then and what she fears is coming.  Some nurses from here went to NYC to help last spring, they came back absolutely traumatized.  I can't say as I blame them, they've seen more death than 95% of the soldiers in Iraq or Afghanistan.

And trump had the audacity to claim again yesterday that the doctors are deliberately miss-categorizing deaths as Covid.  What is wrong with this guy, more to the point, what is wrong with the people who believe him?

Other news, we attended the high school's musical last night, the one cancelled last spring.  It was surreal.  They erected a giant blow-up screen at the fairgrounds, we all sat in our cars and listened to it on the radio while they performed in the auditorium wearing masks.  The masks made it hard to hear the singing properly but that didn't matter because it was really all about them getting a chance to perform.  Good thing they did it when they did.  In another few days, the fairground would have been too wet or under snow.

Unfortunately Trump supporters either don’t care or don’t believe in the science.  The presidency is all about character and integrity.  Something Trump has not acquired during his lifetime whether in his private life or his public life.

I'm still having trouble trying to decide whether trump is a sociopath or psychopath.   By definition a sociopath lacks empathy for other people but can't hide it.  In contrast, a psychopath lacks empathy for other people but can learn to hide it.  At turns, trump appears to have learned to hide it but then at his campaign rallies, he just can't keep the charade going and says things that no psychopath would say.

As for what trump supporters believe, wait until they run out of hospital beds to treat the sick & dying.  In the end, I guess, it really doesn't matter, it's too late for the hundreds of thousands dead.

As the recent surge ages out we’re going to have a 7 day death MA well north of 1000 into the indefinite future.

As I said before I’ve generally been too hopeful-I recently said maybe we could get out of this with under 400k deaths. That’s looking light.

The 78 days of transition are going to be awful.
