I don`t see how the FBI investigation changes one senator`s vote short of:
1. Ford or Kav breaking down "I was lyyyyyying and I`m soooo sorry, boo-hoo hoo"
2. a Polaroid picture or a cassette recording of the 1982 summer event in that room being discovered....or maybe a "Beta max" recording of a sex tape? Then they`ll have to find someone with a Beta max recorder to play the tape 🙂
If everyone sticks to their stories, the FBI won`t satisfy anyone at the end of the week, Dems will demand more and Repubs will say "nothing to see, we delayed enough...Let`s vote!" and it will be political cover for Flake, Murkowsky, Collins, Manchin and Heidikamp.
The thing is, as a witness if you don`t stick to the statement you gave before, then you now open yourself up to a felony, so there`s every incentive to not stray too far.
Pressure will be on Mike Judge (not the cartoonist) to get him to do some blabbing, but as a doper and drinker he isn`t exactly a credible witness.....unless he backs up Ford then oh my God he`ll be "Honest Abe Lincoln".
