Re: coping with winter blahs
I've seen those Sam but agree the hardware can be pricey. My first entertainment center was for a 25 in. TV and had a roll up tambour door on the front which the wife thought would give a neater appearance when closed up while not watching the TV. Turns out we hardly ever shut the door after it was put in use.
We need a new entertainment center for our 46 in. flat screen but the wife and I have a difference in opinion on just what we want. She wants one designed to fit in the corner which would make the TV more viewable no matter where one sits in our living room. However this placement would move the TV about 5 feet further away from my favorite recliner. Since 99% of the time it is just the two of us watching TV I prefer it to sit along the wall right in front of our two recliners placing the TV 5 feet closer. She tends to win out on these types of issues since they fall within her house hold reign but I'm not giving up yet.
I'm still trying to get the wife more involved in wood working and think she would be good at it as she is a stickler for doing things right. That way I'm hoping she will take over the finishing which is my least favorite part of wood working.

Re: coping with winter blahs
I like the way you think. Are you sure you are from Nebraska? Possibly born in Iowa and risked away in the middle of the night as a small child?
