democrats are evil

Detention camps.   No due process, no 4th amendment.  Just the governor's order.

Re: democrats are evil

I can tell you have never read any emergency operations plans.

Above such language has been on the books for years.  Thru both democratic and republican leadership.

Why do we need an emergence order when we have a vaccine that is 95% effective?

Re: democrats are evil

Was much the same with SARS.

If that upsets you....then never read an EOP for something like e.bola.

Such orders are not a plan to take your rights away.....but to save lives.

The people that enact these such actions dont take it lightly...if that has to be done, things are bad.

YOU DO NOT HAVE THE RIGHT TO INFECT OTHER PEOPLE.

Amazing, durning spanish flu and polio outbreak, nobody questioned.

Why today....some people want to make a name for themselves, and today, with the internet, any nut in their basement in their PJ can make a post seem like science and people minds are so twisted by people like trump....they believe it.

Those who fear infection have the vaccine option.

Re: democrats are evil

I sincerely hope that wasn’t a serious question and was a disingenuous ploy to expand some reader’s store of ignorance.

Those sorts of plans are done under delegation. They aren’t statutes or laws, not enforceable.

What those proposing this in  NY are doing is asking that they become so.  Tough task.

Re: democrats are evil

The basics for emergency preparedness plans have truly been around for many, many years, yet were primarily written for potential weather disasters, floods, other natural disasters, or hostile attacks.   Additional outreaches (or over-reaches) of preparedness plans have generally taken place since the origination of "The Department of Homeland Security" (2002?).   At least in Missouri, I've read that the specific "pandemic influenza response plan" originated during the early stages of H1N1 (2008-2009), so not all that long ago.  It was updated in 2011, 2018 and 2020, and it appears to me to be considered "guiding principles", NOT LAW, although am sure it is fully incorporated into the operations and management protocols for State and County Health and Human Services.  The "guiding principles" basically include reporting, preparation, collaboration, coordination, response and distribution:

- provide honest, accurate, and timely information to the public.

- work with federal, state and local government partners, and the private sector to coordinate pandemic influenza preparedness activities to achieve interoperable response capabilities.

-  encourage all Missourians to be active partners in preparing local communities, workplaces, and homes for pandemic influenza, and will emphasize that a pandemic will require Missourians to make difficult choices.

- strive to ensure that preparations made for an influenza pandemic will benefit overall preparedness for any public health emergency or disease outbreak, and serve to build capability to protect the health of all Missourians.

- work to achieve statewide reliable, efficient, and rapid distribution mechanisms for vaccine and antiviral drugs through the Strategic National Stockpile.

- work with the federal government to procure vaccine and distribute it for pre-determined priority groups, based on pre-approved local plans, or as the epidemiology of the pandemic dictates.

- in collaboration with federal and local partners, will distribute antiviral drugs for final disposition at healthcare facilities to treat ill patients and for dispensing to front-line health care workers.

Re: democrats are evil

Rounding up groups of people and sending them to detention strictly on a governors order is inherently evil.  Just like fdr's internment of japanese americans.

Fear makes people accept this evil.  Over a virus with a +99% survival.
