Wow, you really are that stupid, aren’t you Al?

You simply can’t handle the fact that “going green” may be a “great” thing.   And your words are so painful….

Ever hear of biodegradable plastic, Chapped Àss?    Like most Republican Bàstàrds, you only give a part of the story.   It’s easy to condemn, when Republican Bàstàrds seek to manipulate all avenues, to create anger and mistrust - it’s what you Bàstàrds do.

Then why don't the make the straw out of biodegradeable plastic?  seems like that would be easier

Re: Biodegradable plastic is water soluble, the straw isn't.

Simple, the purpose of the plastic wrap is to keep the clean & sanitary until it's used. Its water resistance isn't a requirement whereas the straw is in contact with a water-based beverage.  The straw's water resistance is a requirement.

It doesn't melt the instant it is stuck into a drink.

..very early "plastics", it is made from cellulose, aka wood fiber, hemp, cotton, etc.  It is biodegradable and moisture resistant but not moisture-proof.
