If you`re hinting about the Democrat supported wars of the past decade, I`ve always thought that a $1 tax of fuel should`ve been implemented.  That wouldn`t have been voluntary, but at least it would`ve been in everyone`s face as they filled up ♪ding♫ding ♪ding...we would`ve been out of "there" by 2004.   We could`ve declared victory and said "sorry, we just ran out of money, so long".  But to get support for the war we have to promise bridges in certain congressmen`s districts on top of the actually cost of the war...all going on Uncle Sam`s Visa/Mastercard.

If there is a dictatorship in this country it is from the guys running the stock and commodities markets.  They spread fear and the investors get scared or they are consumed by greed and buy or sell accordingly.  Many lose while only a few reap the rewards.

Why should there not be as many of options available for health customers? You missed the entire point of my reply. How would you like to be put on a Government set fee scale for your work? No negotiations, just take the fee for your crops, or get out. Would you, or any other farmer, get up early every day, work as many hours, for a small Government stipend? No?.... Nether will the medical profession. You will have to force them to perform their skills at the point of a gun, or settle for unskilled , unqualified workers doing medical procedures for your government plan.

I guess that will rid America of the aging Baby Boomers fairly quickly, with their Liberal ,Hippy way of thinking.

I agree that we need single payers....every single person in America should pay their own medical bills, and produce accountability in the system.

It works for DVD's, TV's, clothing, groceries....competition and people making choices. Drives the prices down.

Heck, I hear that Mexcian dentists even compete to lure tightazzed old Germans to Mexico to save some pesos on dental work.

Insurance should be for catastrophic coverage to avoid bankruptcy.

If medical procedures were reasonable, you could just bank the current premiums and pay your own bills.

Of course, if you pay $100 per month and get Medicare coverage, that isn't going to work.  You can't buy a new Mercedes for $100 per month, can you?
