it has always been anathema to conservatives
but the logical policy reponse to both Trump's immigration initiatives and claims of vote fraud is a national ID system.
Really not a personal problem to me as I'm already very much on the grid with a driver's license, SS#, business tax ID# etc. as is virtually every single person who engages in this conversation.
Of course while Republicans would mount a faux libertarian opposition the real reason is that it would end up making vote suppression harder.

FInd a source where Republicans oppose such a system of Voter ID.
First common sense post you have had in a very, very long time. (well except for suggesting that Republicans would oppose such a system).

Google and click and read. If you'd actually commit the time to do so we likely wouldn't hear from you until Monday.

No need for susch a thing as voter registration and no games- you show up and scan your ID, the databank shows if you're a citizen, of age and not a felon.
A disaster for Republican vote suppression schemes..

Re: sighs....Reprise
Voter ID was not the original topic here. The historic hysteria on the right has been in regard to NATIONAL ID.
There re would be no guarantee that any number of states might not even accept that doc as a form of voter ID.
I'm all for documentation of accuracy of a person being who they say they are. Your polls show that most agree. Getting it is the problem in areas where getting it is made very difficult by intention. That is what Obama was talking about. What voting rights activists are talking about.

Are you seriously saying that you don't understand the distinction between the conversations?
