That's why Michigan is approaching worse than ever status, no mask mandate.  Oh wait....

This whole mask deal is just a ploy to get ugly women some action.

Re: masks work

Everybody knew that it was coming when the B117 variant got a foothold in Ann Arbor a couple months ago.

Largest vector appears to be kids and youth sports as schools and extracurriculars were reopened.

But it will soon arrive in guntoter country and start mowing down the the unvaccinated.

The combination of younger, healthier patients and better therapeutics is so far keeping deaths down but it isn't into the hard part of the lagged curve yet, either.

Good news in the North is that we're hitting the point where buildings open up and people head outside. Currently true in the South as well, but it will cut like a scythe through a lot of the rural South once AC season starts.

Re: masks work

When I say everybody knew, that probably includes the GQP legislative majority (although they're a pretty krazy lot), which has continued a scorched earth campaign to open everything up.

Like Dennison, deaths will just be a statistic if there's political advantage to be had.

It's a ploy no doubt.

Re: masks work

MN has a modest variant problem as well. Like MI a place where travel and seeding was more common.

The rest of the MW may actually luck out to some degree, even though it is already seeded into most everywhere. But if you avoided broad spread while everything was closed up in cold places, you may avoid the worst of it.

For you mask lovers......any of you ever run a bin sweep and swept the floor of a grain bin with soybeans in it?  How did those paper masks work out for you?
