but the "surge upon a surge" from Thanksgiving might not develop. May be offset by a lot of people not having to go to work, staying home etc.
Not that the advice to stay home wasn't sound- in fact even a 4 day shutdown with universal cooperation would have bent the curve perceptibly.
But the underlying trend is still bad, and there will be a lot of catching up on the death certs to do this week. And the little bit of fools paradise from everyone going for pre-emptive testing before travelling will also fade.
