http://www.politico.com/politico44/2012/06/forkless-friday-at-obama-event-127056.html   That is insulting!  When there`s a fancy dinner and the guests aren`t trusted with a fork????  I`m sure if one of the guests went nuts and attacked obama the secret service would have him perforated 30 times before he got anywhere near the golden child.   I can`t believe it, I`m more tolerant of other cultures than Obama.  When I was a kid ocassionally Mexicans would come out to the farm and buy and butcher one of Dad`s lambs.  These Mexicans never came with a sharp knife so Dad would let them use his knives.  I got to admit, I questioned Dad`s sanity the first time that he gave them knives, but they were totally decent and turned a live 140# lamb into a small sack of meat in about 5 minutes.  The crazy clowns even saved the stomach.  But what can I say, my crazy Norwegian Uncle used the make "head cheese" and "blood baloney" when we butchered ...don`t know exactly what it is and never asked.

I actually have the old family recipies for 'head cheese' and 'blood sausage'.

However nasty you think that stuff was, it pales in comparison to 'Jeternetce', which I think translates to 'the parts the dog wouldn't eat, stuffed into a casing'

Around here, we have the Loations (From Laos) who dig a pit, bar-b-q a whole 100-120# hog, skin and all, bleeding it only, no gutting of it, and let it cook slowly until the belly explodes and the guts are hanging out.  Then, they eat it, skin and all (they don't eat the guts, but they leave them there during cooking).  For guests, or people being honored, you get the (crispy) ears, which are dipped into a sauce made from the pig's blood, and some strong liquor of some sort, along with a few odd spices.

The people around here originally from Mexico, seem to prefer pulled pork burritos.  Mrs. "B", originally from Mexico is a DANG good cook, I can't see how her kids stay skinny.  If I ate her cooking every day, you'd have to widen the doorway, and put overload springs on the car.

Oh, and I never lost a fork yet, from any of them.  In fact, the immigrants I know, even ask if I want my plastic fork back, to wash, before they throw it away.  The ones here legally are all nice folk, honest and polite.  There is one house of 'illegals' that none of us really trust, though.

Actually, I got to thinking, and I wonder if it isn't part of standard policy, that somehow got put into a headline, and blown out of proportion?
After all, anyting with the Presidential Seal, is supposed to be properly accounted for, at all times.  I know a guy in the Marines, who has helped the SS once or twice, and he said they keep tabs on EVERYTHING that has the seal on it, down to the ashtrays and napkins.  I would imagine they make tempting souvineers.

I think you're undoubtedly right. When the Vice President was in town here 5 or 6 years ago, only card-carrying Republicans were allowed into the dinner at the Convo Center. According to all reports afterwards, no utensils were allowed inside. The dinner consisted of wraps.

Of course, it is SOP.  They do NOT take any chances with the president regardless of party and I am more than certain that the president himself does not have anything to do or say about it.  It is just ignorant morons like ollie who want to create crap that latch onto things like this and turn it political.
