Re: of coursse schnurrbart ignores
One house ignores the other. Par for the course. Except that the speaker of the house said on Sat. that the deal was very good for all concerned. Then he went back to the membership and didn't have the balls to stick up for his thoughts and caved in to the "bunch of defeat anything Obama is" for crowd and is now talking out the other side of his ass. The really sad truth of the matter is that once again the middle class has to bite the bullet because we can't have the rich suffer anything. They aren't even connected to this payroll tax in any way close to what the middle class is because everything over $106K is not taxed for SS. They don't care but those awful middle class people who are always complaining about the rich will get it again in the butt!

Re: of course schnurrbart ignores
This is the dismantling of the funding of the social security trust fund. Benefits will have to be reduced by a similar amount.

How do you come to that conclusion out of what is happening right now? Do you see this idealogical tussle is an expression of some popular mandate?
Who makes the call? Who adminstrates the change upon it being declared as being upon us? Do people with acounts, only couple hundred million or so of them , get "cashed out" when it is declared over?

If your comment was directed at me what I see is the end of social security as we know it. It is no longer an "insurance" program where you benefits are based on what you paid in during your working years. The ONLY funding for the program is being reduced at a time when benefits requirements are higher do to demographics. The program is on a course of self destruction.

Just what did you find so offensive to my post to dagwood? I complimented him bu saying that it was a good thing he doesn't have a bias. That is not an insult by any stretch of the imagination.
Compare that to what you and he replied about me.

Re: of course schnurrbart ignores
No they won't. Revenues will increase in the future as they raise the FICA tax on you and me and everyone else.
Your whole [roblem isd that you beleived that Reagan nonsense that government is the problem. That is why you folks should not govern because you think government is lousy and when you get in you make sure it is.

That is exactly the same course of the BUsh tax cuts. Eventually they will both expire and probably in one year

stop hiding under a rock Don
How can you have missed all the news stories of fraud and crimes in government agency after agency, department after department? How? Its pandemic. Not just minor things like the SEC watching porn instead of enforcing regulations or cutting deals where the penalty is significantly less than the gain from the crime, or the BLS leaking inside information to help politicos, but crimes that result in deaths, in allowing illegal drugs into the country, into money laundering, and arming felons. Do you remember the big news about how the government of Iran was plotting to assassinate a Saudi ambassador, see how fast that story disappeared when they couldn't make it stick? How can you believe anything these liars say? How can anyone be so blind as to think the federal government is the not problem?
