The under might be tempting.

The urban sun belt hotspots will produce a lot more deaths in the next month or two but might cool down in the Fall.

Would probably take a big contribution from mid South and MW states where cases and positivity are still on the rise as schools open.

As the aggregate case number probably bends down some over the next several weeks it will be time for Pence to do a "There is No 3rd Wave" op ed in the WSJ. And "Where Does Doug Ducey Go For His Apology?"

Although I've admitted to being too optimistic and not really seeing the sun belt explosion coming, I'm still having a hard time seeing how this turns out well in places like IN and IA where the positive rate is near 10% as schools reopen.

Case numbers started to explode upwards 4-5 weeks after the Memorial Day holiday, I guess you have to expect the same.

Deaths trail by 3-4 weeks, which gets you to election day. I'm still about 50/50 on whether after totally blowing it, Dennison decided to wage biological terrorism against the entire country with the hope of creating total chaos for the election. Although what is the saying- never ascribe intent to something that incompetence can explain?
