Especially as time goes on. No one even mentions the World War One people anymore , because they have all died and have been mostly forgotten. No one mentions the 100 year anniversary of major events of WW1 as they have come and gone. The same will be for the WW2 events in 30 years. It's just the way it is. Out of sight, out of mind.

I don`t know how the genie is put back in the bottle, as far as sexual immorality. Growing up in the 70`s and 80`s porn was contained in DesMoines, the Sunday paper would have what`s showing...sometimes movies rated "XXXXXX" 12 yr old me wondered "Wow! I`ve only heard of XXX, what`s in a XXXXXX movie?" There were striper bars around here that only "neerdowells" ...but on my 19th birthday my friends drug me into one of those places. Greasey looking Harley riders taking turns with a rolled up $5 in their mouths just doesn`t make those women apealing to me. But, that seemed to work well, guilt of those places and looking down on those that would go in such places contained it.

Now with computers and "freedom of speech" the toothpaste never will get back in the tube. Larry Flynn and Bob Guccione wrap themselves in the American flag and say "It`s YOUR freedom of speech to watch whatever you want...Be a proud American!"...They say that laughing all the way to the bank..But they don`t support Rush Limbaugh or Fox News "1st Amendent rights" they don`t support the rest of the constitution like the right to bear arms...just the bits and pieces that fattens their wallet and steals the soul of the country.

The Greatest generation and their "church lady" wives that made all our faces red with embarassment, to feel guilt if one stumbled on a "blue" magazine, have all died off.

Here as well. It is genuinely priceless and stays away from the sensationalistic stuff that clutters so many (often well meaning) sites. I read some of those, but wouldn't send them a dime as they are generally redundant.

Actually, nowhere else except for a local independent public radio station out of Mankato 3 that produces fabulous alternative music programming and 3 of the institutions of higher education that our daughters attended that contributed greatly to making them the successful set of considerable contributing taxpayers that they have become.

Oh......and before someone asks...."liberally" to our home church congregation.

Pushed the limits. For sure.  It not being bothersome enough to call out (I'm right there with you on this one) does't say much for any of us who have wives and daughters andvwho don't actively object. It's been sitting on the kitchen counter with the other mail for a couple of days. Apparently SI is hard up enough that they've continued my son's subscription even though I don't believe it has been paid for some time.

I remember something my Dad told me a long time ago when he overheard some of the other kids giggling aobut Playboy. He said that there's nothing wrong with wanting to look at a pretty girl, the problem is with the other crap in there. There was a funny piece by the author Jennifer Weiner in the Sunday Times regarding the revealing cover shot and how now women also have to worry about what the mons pubis looks like as if they didn't have enough body parts for inferior comparison.

My thought when I'd heard that Derek Jeter's current girlfriend was on the cover my mind immediately went to the stories about the Jeets dropping herpes around MLB cities over the course of his career. Made me wonder if she won't be able to cash in as a spokeperson for acyclovir.
