your correct, I complain about the  over govt protection  and guarantees afford our grain production farmers.   If cutting govt spending is complaining I'm for it. good place to start.

I`ve posted this to you at least more than once before that "We`re all socialists now" and that didn`t start with the current dictator that`s in the White house...probably with FDR, although I think even he would now balk at how bloated government has become.

You seem to think that if a person drives on public roads, flushes a toilet in a public restroom or visits Yellowstone Park....even though we pay licenses, user fees and taxes...for some reason we have NO RIGHT to comment on the public spending waste.

And when I point out that the US farm programs are only the MEANS of achieving the END of having a cheap food policy for the country.  Oh I know I know I know I know ..you will discount the cheap food policy....BUT! are you making the argument that the US does not have the cheapest safest food on the planet??????????????????   Google is your friend, if you could`ve proved me wrong, you would`ve done so, long ago.

Maybe you should google to prove that paying farmers keeps our cheap food .  Remmeber 2/3 of our food carry federal suopport  programs.  Iowa U and several conservative sites find the same thing that ending farm subsidies would have any effect on our food prices.

i just read a local paper article that was pointing out the precarious financial position some farms were in because of books set up to pay little tax rather than to monitor the financial health of their farm.

It was talking of decisons made for tax reasons not for financially sound reasons and how those decisions would come to hurt when interest rates rise and crop prices continue to remain low.

The author made the claim that the financial fallout would be greater this time than it was in the '80ies.

Too much dear land and shiny equipment.

Hobby, does paying farmers increase supply or decrease supply? Of course it keeps the cost of food down. It distorts the market. It is a statist policy of government picking the winners and losers. The consumer and the BTO are the winners while the young beginning farmers are the losers. So you think the young conservative farmer should stay out of the program but the liberal BTO should milk the program for all it's worth. Hypocrite.

Farm support will never end as long as y'all keep signing up for it! If you REALLY are against it, you would quit taking it and get out of Farm Bureau and tell your reps it should end BUT you won't because you would rather complain and try to make people think you are against it.
