What really seems to be freaking white folks out isn't the violence, it is somehow being forced to come to terms with the fact that cops lie all the time, particularly to protect themselves or their brethren.
I guess people say, gee, that could be me on the wrong end of the lie even if they can't imagine being on the short end of police violence.
BTW, anybody who didn't know that cops lie all the time was living in willful oblivion as deep or deeper than thinking that there hadn't been widespread violence against minorities going on forever.
