rent not paid

A renter signed a lease to pay all the land rent by the 1st of April. He planted corn, soybeans and wheat. In spite of reminders rent not paid, lot's of promises and excuses. Wheat harvested and still no rent payment. Rumors abound about financial and personal problems of the renter. So what can I as the land owner do?  How do I proceed. thanks

Re: rent not paid

Laws vary by state, talk to a lawyer.

Re: rent not paid

Depending on the state, you might have a statutory lien on the crops. Any decent ag lawyer should be able to tell you what you need to do in only a few minutes.

Not specifying the year could be your problem.
